You don't say what OS or browser you're running, btw.

I am running Internet Explorer on Windows 7 Home Premium. It could be an update issue but the computer usually updates automatically. I like Internet Explorer better than Firefox and others that I have tried, but I haven't tried the latest versions of those browsers.

Do be sure your browser is updated to version 11. Also, go into control panel>internet options> advanced tab> and check the box that says "use software rendering..." Close, and re-open browser. This will make a difference in your browsing speed everywhere. Hardware rendering is still too buggy for real world use.

Lastly, make sure you're using the 32-bit version of IE11, and NOT the 64-bit version. You can check it by clicking on the little gear in the top right corner, and then clicking "about internet explorer". That should help your browsing here.

Reminder: Logging in will make ATS homepage faster.

I was having a heck of a time with the Java popups and other vids coming on .. I got rid of Java but it still had problems ...What I found was in Chrome in tools and the extensions ...Some how something turned on a extension and that caused a lot of problems ..Fixed it 3 days ago and my pc speed is great now and I am not getting other audios pooping up and that Java/Adobe flash has ceased ....peace

It would seem that your number one reason to switch away from ATS, is impatience.

The fact is, that no matter what the refresh rate might be on certain areas of this website, it is still the premier, the alpha dog, the creme de la creme of conspiracy discussion sites, still has some of the most worldly wise (and occasionally demented) members on any website on this planet, and still provides the ultimate forum for the discussion of all manner of obscure and arcane topics.

This website, and every page on it, are worth waiting for in my opinion.

I have been using laptops and Windows products since 1998..no more.
virus,virus scans, pop up adds, Trojans, slow browsers and any other problem you can think of...
that is when I gave up after 8 different laptops with windows.

And yes I also was having problems with Windows and ATS..

Bought an Amazon tablet..amazing how the browser is so much different...
fast, no adds ,no virus nothing not a problem...
sure things are little different and there is a learning curve but so was learning my laptop 15yearsago.
Now I can enjoy ATS..

No more Windows products for me....

you traded windows products for amazon products...google, amazon, Microsoft etc...they are all in the "hustle" business...i'll guess i'm the only one here where windows works just fine.

The 32-bit is already installed on your machine, all you have to do is switch to it. 64-bit is not faster, and has no advantage over the 32-bit browser. Note: If you checked "about internet explorer" and it didn't say 64-bit, then you are using the 32-bit.

Not by any means. Windows works great for me. Always has. It has its quirks, but so does Mac and Linux.

Ads are a response to what you have viewed on your machine in the past. Don't blame ATS for Google wanting to tailor its ads to your web history. Blame Google.

Really, do yourself a favor and just download Firefox or Chrome. You really will like it better.

Its you , not us. So dont blame ATS. I get absolutely nothing EVER here like that.

Our Leader S.O. is working on that Ive read, so either search that thread, or U2U him with a message.

I do the same as Xcalibur and go directly to the recent posts page when visiting this site. Have never had any of the problems mentioned in this post.

My 2 cents is it may be a problem unique to the individual user, and not a problem with the website.

PS: I also think bigfatfurrytexan had some good advice regarding ads and the browser you are using...

I will check out Firefox and Chrome. I used to use Opera and liked it. My favorite is Internet Explorer though, but that could just be ease of use due to familiarity.

Why do you spend so much time on the homepage, there's barely any content on there anyway?

I mean maybe it really is an issue im just saying, bring it up with an admin maybe they can actually address an issue if its server side.

I have never had a pop up on my phone before. Didn't know it even happens. Interesting. Do you use a virus scanner?

You must have missed my earlier post where I said I like to check if there is any important developing story. Often times a big story will be on the home page.

Good idea about bringing it up with the board. Maybe I'll do a thread in that forum.
