Religious Hiatus

Honestly, I don't understand the need for bans, thread closings, etc. on the religious (or any other forums). When I see a thread I'm in, whatever the subject matter, begin to deteriorate into bickering and name calling, I just leave. If there was a good discussion going on until the trolls turned up, then I just ignore their posts and answer the productive posters. Is that so hard? Must we tattle on each other or whine about someone hurting our feelings?

The moderators moderate, not babysit; nor are they obligated to kiss our wounded boo boos. If there are blatant T&C violations, report THAT but other than that, grow up and quitchergritchin! It's embarrassing to the grown-ups among us to be put in a time out with the naughty children.
