This is how deception starts, remember. As in chess, distraction from other things. Truth hidden in plain sight.

I think the Catholic Church has got a good Pope this time around.

The Church is a very important institution. In the years since WW2 they have had, quite often, the sense to put men at the top who were right for the times. They've had a couple of clunkers, including the last Pope, who at least had the intelligence to step aside, but I think the current Pope is right on the money with what the Church and the world needs.

Read the Book of Revelations prophecy on the Church...

The Church, as the Bride, will cleanse and make herself beautiful and pure in order to marry with the Christ returned. This is in line with Francis sudden radical reform of the Church with Vatican Council III, applying the principles of Jesus, to help the poor, to come clean, to receive everyone, no mater their faiths.

OR it can be interpreted in a different way... that the Church, the Prostitute over the city of seven hills, is preparing herself to receive the False Prophet.

But one way or another, Francis really is the last and final pope.

Pïetrus Romanus = the pope who revealed the bones of Saint Peter in Rome.

Peter was named as such as he was the founding stone of the Church, so as his bones were hidden somewhere beneath the Vatican, to physically symbolize this.

The prophecies are unfolding right now, and we're in for some major turbulence!

I too have pondered the nexus between biblical prophecy and current events. Many institutions have analyzed the various ancient texts and drawn similar conclusions to yours. The addition of the Prophecy of Popes makes it even more compelling.

At the risk of wandering a bit off topic:

I still question the appropriateness of the idea that the institution of the Catholic church is the Bride of Christ. I recognize one thing salient in biblical prophecy... the story is about people, not nations, not colors of people, not anything other than people. I grant that earlier writings of the Abrahamic tradition did focus on the chosen status of the Jews, which would facilitate any bias to believe they (based upon blood-line) are the sole recipients of some manner of salvation. However, later prophets, thinkers, messiahs, (or whatever you call them) made clear a spirit of salvation (pardon the pun) that is not exclusive to anyone (even if it once was.)

I am inclined to interpret the prophetic "Bride of Christ" as a way to speak of the hundreds of millions who are faithful to this tradition. When the faithful begin 'readying' themselves, I will entertain worry.

[trying to return to the topic at hand]

The easiest way to think of this for me is that the church itself is the people, not the buildings, not the leaders. Just as any nation can be run by unworthy people, it does not mean the nation is unworthy; so it is with any institution.... which in the end is run by people, that includes the religious caste. Sadly this translates to the idea that no matter how pious or righteous the leader of the church may be, it is not up to one man to fix it. In fact, it is very likely that one man can't fix it. That would require a movement.

The only mistake the pope has made so far is suggest that people take other people's means of production away from them without permission when he said there should be less capitalism. Stealing is wrong but the pope is advocating for it. Other than that, I like him. Using violence is supposed to be a last resort, not a first impulse. The last vestiges of capitalism died with Obamacare, so I think we need to focus on the socialist economic system we have now and not the one we had. Its kind of like Obama blaming Bush for everything.

The last vestiges of capitalism died with ACA? C'mon! Quit believing the party line hype that keeps you enslaved brother (or sister)!

Capitalism has been dead for DECADES.

Mussolini's dream has run the world since the fall of the Soviet Union. Mussolini's fascist, or correctly Corporatism, has run the world since St. Ronnie I Went to War with Poverty and THUMPED the Poor Reagan.

Okay maybe not "run" the world as of ole bones Ronnie, but started under him and just has gotten progressively more terrible.
