Adamski's "Scout Ship" identified

Though most people considered Adamski's now iconic photo of an alleged Venusian scout ship to be nothing more than a hoax many were, and some still are, taken in by the scam. The problem was, Believers pointed out that no one could show what Adamski had used to create the "alleged" model. One hypothetical suggestion was a chicken egg incubator but nobody could produce an actual example.

Well, Joel Carpenter has identified what it was that Adamski used to trick us all. The portholed and flanged body of the craft was the canopy, or shade, of a hand-held pressurised gas lantern from the 1930s.



Not only is this an unextractable nail in the Adamski coffin but it also identifies as hoaxers all those contactees and witnesses who claimed to have seen an identical craft and it discredits all those who analysed and "scientifically" verified Adamski's photos and films.

Preliminary Notes on the Adamski Scout Ship Photos

There is a photo of the top of drink machine cooler. I can't find it at present but it was the nail in the coffin so to say when I was younger with regards to Adamski. I'll try to find it but here is a bit of a write up.

It was apparent at the the time that Adamski had a working relationship with the coolers at the time.

"UFOlogist George Adamski claimed that a Venusian scoutcraft visited him twice in 1952. On the second visit it flew low enough over his Southern California home in Palomar Gardens to allow to photograph it. He said he took these pictures with a Kodak Brownie box camera attached to a six-inch telescope. Adamski went on to write a number of books describing his contacts with aliens and attracted a large following. In 1959 he was even granted an audience with Queen Juliana of the Netherlands.

But not even diehard UFO believers take Adamski's UFOtographs seriously anymore. Skeptics note that the UFO looks like the top of a soft-drink cooler or a lamp shade, and there appear to be ping pong balls glued to the bottom of it. Jerrold Baker, one of Adamski's colleagues, later claimed to have seen the model used to fake these Venusian Scoutcraft photos."

No die-hard believer worth their salt is going to fall for anything as ridiculous as evidence!

Especially when it is NOT evidence but merely speculation served up as proof. Of course, the possibility that the resemblance was merely a coincidence - one quite likely to have occurred given the huge number of things invented and mass produced during the 1930s and 1940s - would of course never occur to the mindset of a debunker intent on proving Adamski hoaxed his photos.

Just because something has been found that looks somewhat (and no more than THAT) like the flying saucers that he claimed to photograph does not prove that they served as models. The proof is still lacking.

If you look at the photographs you will see it is identical - even down to the slots for the lantern handle.

Thanks torsion, it does look to be exactly the same as the Adamski ship doesn't it.

But you're forgetting one thing...what if the Adamski ships were similar to Transformers...and one of these lamps was the first thing they saw and replicated the design? !!!

I have seen UFO's with my own eyes, so i'm what could be called a believer...but even i can see that this is an exact match for the Adamski photos. But we have to remember, because there are scam artists and downright liars in almost every single area of Human existence, that's certainly not to say, everything we know about any subject, including UFOs and ETs is a scam...it just proves that some (or a lot) Human beings are bloody liars...that's no surprise, we all know this.

They are not mutually exclusive.

If someone lies about seeing a large meteor or comet (for example), it doesn't mean there are no actual meteors or comets..if you see what i mean.

He managed to fool a lot of people though didn't he.

I would say that beyond all reasonable doubt we have the evidence to rationally pin the Adamski affair as a hoax with this find. Personally I never gave it any credibility and this confirms to me what I already thought to be true. Well spotted.

It's an interesting theory that does have some backing evidence. If that were true, maybe the "Friendship" folk were taken for a similar ride?

The injunction from Dulles apparently concerned author Thomas Eickhoff’s wanting the two unknown scientists Adamski had brought up in his publication to testify in a case charging Adamski with mail fraud for selling products which contained false claims….

Adamski was a fraud.

Too many disinfo agents. But folks are now starting to see the extent that the government uses to silence people and the technology that has been in place to monitor everything we do.

G.A. was the Billy Meier of the 1960's, tons of alleged 'proof', no hard evidence.
At least with B.M., he had more then scratchy videos. G.A.'s movies today are laughable, I think my 11 year old son can make a more realistic video on his iphone.

Today, we now know that in the late 50's and 60's the CIA was very much involved with early undisclosed (then) reconaissance aircraft & spacecraft which were seen to be "UFO"s by many observers (U-2, A-12, CORONA which we know about now, and probably other programs still undisclosed).

Pre-prompting the public to think first about "Venusians" or whatever would be excellent cognitive stealth & useful disinformation spontaneously created in the public in order to lower the probability of the USSR obtaining useful intelligence about the operations. Remember, back then, even the concept and existence of an imaging intelligence satellite was completely unknown to the public.

Obviously somebody like Adamski or any other wouldn't be cleared for CORONA, so somebody might hint to him, "Yes, Mr Adamski, we have indeed been investigating the Venusian problem ourselves, and we appreciate your work." (i.e. correct, and deceptive)

In fact, it seems logical that crafting covers for the jewel of the intelligence operation would have to be some people's job description. If you had this job in 1961, what would you do?

And yes "maximum security exists on the subject of UFOs".

Um, just because somebody spotted something in a hardware store that resembles the Adamski craft doesn't mean it was hoaxed. No nail. No coffin.
