In my memory there is a moment I understood,
a moment of insight and epiphany,
where contrast cast a clear shadow
defining the moment the way it should.

Doubt dissipated and hesitation disappeared,
action initiated by understanding,
just how much I didn’t really believe,
behavior labeled as impulsive.

Moments of clarity
Moments of disparity
Moments of confusion
Moments of delusion
Moments of love
Moments of hate
Moments of doubt
Moments of faith
Moments of anger
Moments of peace
Moments of generosity
Moments of selfishness
Moments of betrayal
Moments of forgiveness
Moments of rejection
Moments of acceptance
Moments of moments
and moments of none.

When do moments become memories
that I can live with?

If all you want to see
Is ideal memory

If you are dissatisfied
with all you have tried

If you yearn for a different past
with memories that last

Then remember only this

The moments will change
minute after minute
hour after hour
But only in this PRESENT moment
will you find your power.

Thank you for your response! Lately my reflections have been like the images in a rear view mirror, where objects look closer than they are.

When do moments become memories
that I can live with?

When we can wipe away the tears and replace them with a sad, nostalgic smile.

Warning, it may take a while. We can all keep each other company until we get there!

One of the greatest gifts one can receive is the tear wiped away by a friend.
Thank you friend.

Unfortunately that's a sad list that I seem to know to well. And at the moment I'm lost in "no man's land"... Very nicely written as ever my friend. Here's to us all

I do write a lot of these sad reflections. Maybe it is the way I cleanse my toxic system. The truth of the matter is I have been told I have a great sense of humor and I truly enjoy a good laugh. I will join you my friend.

That was very good.

Lately my moments seem to fly away with the wind. Then I have moments that feel wasted.

I know I still have moments to come that will be cherished and remembered forever...

Not all your moments you have listed are sad.. There's love which stuck out to me... Because with more moments of love I sure feel like this place could be so much better.

Peace and love and hugs to you friend ~~>>

Thanks Nat! I have wonderful moments with people I love. I have wonderful moments with my friends here on ATS.
I have always been a people person and one who values relationship. So now that I am divorced and living alone, I really feel the loss of that intimacy. My sadness and loneliness are due in part to my not being willing to not be lonely. I have been betrayed twice by the women I loved and I fear that devastation more than the loneliness and sadness I am experiencing. I know the catch 22 that presents intellectually but I am trying to work through all that with time and reaching out and staying connected with others. Uhg, it just seems to drag on... Thank you and the rest of my friends here on ATS for your patience and encouragements!
Peace and hugs to you my friend.
