Our team of world class scientists and technicians are developing the modular motion apparatus of the future: the Battle Sphere. With the fortitude of a tank, the mobility of infantry, and its unique superstructure allowing soldiers to morph into its shell, the Battle Sphere will dramatically enhance a soldier's defense profile to meet every combat situation

Man this thing reminds my of those tank type things in the new Star Wars movies. I have seen one guy that built a one wheel thing like this that you sit inside but he has had stablity problems with the design. After a bad crash in on of his bikes he changed the design to include a spolier.

Whats the deal with this Oribis Labs never heard of them before

It looks like a video game website. Maybe its one of those sites that hypes up what it is going to be before they release it?

BTW, what is a 'Thermal Cannon'?

This is as corny as Stavatti.

There is no detail, they're talking about vague things like thermal guns etc. It looks like a video game to me.

Seriously, though. How practical would a combat "wheel" be? Given it was stable...

It'd probally cost a fortune, but it would be very useful if it was stable (which I doubt), maybe 2 rings with the sphere in the middle woudl be more stable?

I don't deny that the project looks impressive, but it's too far ahead of our current tech level at the moment, my opinion however...

And maybe replacing the Thermal Cannons (
:puz
with a portable missile launcher or minigun of some kind with laser guidance?
From my research into Electro Thermal Chemical Cannons (ETC) there is not much on the web about them. This could mean they are:
Don't Exist
Still Being Researched
Still Top Secret/Plans Classafied
I'll keep searching for information, but I'm gathering its still Top Secret.
