When I saw the thread with the pic from a couple of years ago, it triggered something I'd read in my mother-in-law's notes about her life in New York City in the 1920-30s. Just after her account of seeing Lucky Lindy when his parade came to Prospect Park, she mentions a trip to Niagara Falls when they were frozen. I still have a few boxes of her stuff to sort through so I'm hoping for photos of that trip to surface!

Well I believe in Canada, eastern especially, it gets cold enough to freeze every year.

But here in the southern interior of BC, where we do get chinooks often above zero, its 10 degrees above. Which is a little odd.

The water still flows underneath. Just not as much.
