After seeing the video of the gear they had I'm doubly sure I'd bring my own.

This reminds me so much of my adventures in Skyrim! Also - amazing trail! I so want to go there.

I've been trying to dig up information on any deaths that have occurred along this trail. I haven't been able to find any specific statistics because of the Chinese censorship, but it looks to average about one hundred deaths a year. That is way higher than I figured.

Also, if your palms aren't sweaty enough, here is a video I found of a guy doing the trail with no harness. Yikes!

I'm with Biigs…who in the hell built the original path? How and why?

I would have to do it for the experience for sure. Even if I was sweating and shaking the whole time.

I believe your answer is in the article. Who? Taoist monks. How? By hand. Why? Religious reasons we probably wouldn't understand.

I'd have to do it also. I used to do a bit of climbing when younger. So, yeah. If I found myself there, I'd do it.

In the video above. Is that video camera there to keep a track of the number of falls?

Before kids, I wouldn't have even thought twice. With kids, I would want to do it. But I would probably not take the risk. Funny how a little miniature person can change one's decision making.
