This awesome anomaly, seems a skeletal, fossilized, "hand" that emerge from the sands of Mars on Curiosity Sol 494 image. Absolutely unusual and rare anomaly that cast questions... What is it? And, in the worst case scenario: Who Belong To...?

I would go with wires or cabling before a hand skeleton, but that's just me.
Kudos either way.

In response to your questions
Its a skeletal hand and it belongs to the skull head with the hole in the top, lying to the northwest
How was that missed by the guy with the highlighter?

Nice catch, whatever that is. (I counted 6 fingers too.)
Distant cousin perhaps?

I'm counting on you for the next impressive thoracic spine feature buried somewhere in the martian sands. To the left of your 'skeletal hand' there's a rock with a circular opening on top. Could be interesting, but yet again, we're too far away to make out any details ... unfortunately!

Keep it up, Arken! Even if just 1 out of 10 threads contained something to support the idea of past life on Mars, it'd definitely be worth the effort to post about it!

You're welcome ... and we'll be getting there, step by step, slowly but steadily. Compiling the more 'noteworthy' images in a kind of database/thumbnail mosaic incl. links, is a good way to go ahead IMO.

If we further manage to get some biologists or other related specialists to comment on the findings, perhaps by comparing certain features with fossils found on Earth using side by side overviews on multiple images, we might be able to make a strong case for past life on Mars.

The downside is indeed that we are bound to rely on visual information only ... other data would of course be helpful, too, but I think that a sufficient amount of visual references, if properly labeled and explained, would also make for a good case and strong arguments.

I'm sorry, but I don't see it. I see what you're trying to claim is a "skeletal hand", but it's sand and rocks. And please, no one give me the debunker nonsense. I believe there are anomalies on Mars, but threads like this do more harm than good and one reason why I've started to ignore them.

If I had the time I'd open Photoshop and piece together what I believe to be a stone in front of the lower end of the "hand" and the lines in the sand you believe belongs to it.

OMG you've stumbled upon a whole fricken' Martian graveyard !!! .... some catastrophe must of frozen them in place like Mount Vesuvius in Pompeii or the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah....
Does NASA know where the rest of the bodies are buried ???...

Your irony is appreciable.
But you may not so far from the truth...
