Just thought I would mention something you could look into. I take prilosec, which is obviously not covered since it is on the pharmacy shelf now. But the generic is not. Ah ha! So by getting the generic prescribed to me, by name, I get 60 generic prilosec for $3. You need to learn the tricks of the medical profession.

Oh and my advice to all obamacare folks, make certain to complain loudly and lots to get your care. From my experince with that awful HMO decades ago, it is a survival thing.

Just throwing this out there, I took prilosec for about 6 years, due to unbearable acid reflux, went through the specialists, tests, various prescription antacids, and prilosec was what worked the best. I had insurance, it just worked better then everything else, they could not find anything wrong with me and suggested I just continued to take prilosec. The problem with that after looking in to it a little bit is that long term use of prilosec is absolutely terrible on your body, it depletes your bones of calcium as well as messes up your entire digestive system by inhibiting your acid production. That acid is essential in getting you the nutrients you need. The ignorance of these doctors, the problem the entire time was my diet, cut out gmo's/processed/ frozen foods and fast forward to the no medication taking healthy individual I have become. These doctors are quacks, for one simple reason they do not address your nutrition. Which is fundamental to everything, oh and btw in order to get off of prilosec I had to treat it like I was a junkie and ween myself off, 3/4 of a pill to a 1/2 a pill to 1/4 to every other day etc. You may have already been aware of all that, I just figured I would share my experience with it.

For those of you who are going to suffer because of this (back injections, migraine treatment, etc) please tell your congressman. Put it in a word doc - just copy paste exactly what you wrote here and send it. But keep a copy so you can send it again in the near future. If people tell these stories they can use them to appeal this thing.

I interpret the rules differently. Rather than being a means to cut the costs by issuing government sponsored death panels, I see it as just another way for government and authorities in general to steal more freedom and insert themselves into every facet of our lives. This not only makes us more dependent on them, but they make us believe it's good for us, so it's hard to get rid of once it sets in. I think it's like a cancer and it's why government only seems to grow bigger. It's why wealthy people can't imagine not having their fancy toys and financial plans. It's why people who use iphones and ipads can't imagine living without them. It's why we don't understand how people survived 100 years ago without all of the healthcare and technology we have today. It's why we can't escape.

They (or is it us?) will not only kill our thoughts and our freedom, they'll convince us it's good for us. They can kill your pets and cut down all your trees and you'll be happy they did it. What happens: we'll be like sheep in a herd.

We NEED big government. We NEED to be controlled. It makes us safe. Obey. Trust. Have faith. Follow. Listen. We NEED experts to tell us what to do.

I wanted to reply to this quote:

I have one doctor that takes no insurance at all. More might go that route in 2015.

Took my wife to her Doc. appointment this morning, we've had Dr. Scott as our family Doc. sense 2005.
As we sat in the room kind of visiting because Dr. Scoot was upset with me for skipping my very important checkups, OK, it wasn't a visit it was a Butt Chewing
MINE!
Anyway, with her nurse there I asked her if she'd lost any patients yet due to Obamacare.
She became very angry and look at her nurse Mrs. Jesus and asked how many phone calls so far. It was up to 48 could not see her because she was not part of their Provider Plan and 63 that lost their coverage and could not afford to buy a plan through the ACA.
Dr. Scott and her husband had instructed their staff in the billing section to work with their patients that still needed to see them and take any payment that they could work out.
She told us also that they have spoken with the other Doctors in the complex and they are also working with their patients that will require care that you just can not ignore or hand off to the E R.

Like she said, you can't blame people for believing all the LIES, People want to Believe.
Then she looked me and my wife in the eye's and said, They should have never allowed this to become a Law, People will Die.

Exactly spot on. Even though government support has had some dramatic drops since the patriot act as an example, we still see the government keep truckin with their ability to infiltrate our personal lives and take over. We allow it because people have lost hope ("why write a letter - it won't make a difference), have lost motivation, ("I guess we're doomed"), and have lost a sense of power ("I'm afraid because they have such a far reach and are so powerful"). Don't forget that many people rely on them so add that under loss of those three things.

It's psychology at its best for them and our worst for the masses. Can someone please write a book about what is happening - and then find a way to distribute it for free? I would but I'm trying to come out of a writing block (a small part of why I contribute so much here). I would sure contribute though. Make people aware of exactly what has gotten us here (assure only cold hard facts on this part). Project where it might go from here with and without change.

To hell with politicians and talking heads, I'll take the word of a doctor any day who has hands on dealings with the inner workings of ACA and its fallout

My hat is off to your doctor for trying every which way to help their patients
My heart goes out to all doctors who are stuck in a similar mess not to mention patients who may be turned away thanks to a failed Obamacare

Can you imagine if people stood up against Obamacare like they did against A&E when Phil Robertson was suspended from Duck Dynasty?
Well hell, while we're at it, can you imagine if the MSM attacked Obamacare like they do Sarah Palin?
We might get some where then

This whole ACA debacle has become the pure definition of insanity (doing the same thing over and over).

It would seem this administration will destroy the medical industry and what medical care we " HAD " and then blame it on America for not complying, this concept is already being circulated.

If you won't allow " US " to remake your country then its your fault if it fails and leaves you with nothing.

Question: Other then this unsubstantiated rumor, do we have ANY CONFIRMED sources that till will actually take place, or is this more doom porn?
Trust me, I hate this admin, but rumors and things like that don't need to be spread to worry people ALREADY worried about their healthcare

I hope you're right. All I wish for this thing is that it's at least temporary. Why does the government think all this has to happen before a single-payer system gets put into place, though?

edit on 2-1-2014 by EllaMarina because: (no reason given)

Because they couldnt sell the single payer system the first time(because in my opinion- it was too extreme at the time).. but now- it doesnt look as extreme.

Maybe thats why? I dunno- just a guess.

That's a tactic used in politics. You propose two policies. One is the one you want, but that the electorate would refuse because they are happy with what they have. So you announce that the extreme situation is going to happen first. Say you have office workers who each have their own office. You announce at a meeting that due to growth, everyone is going to have to share their desk with another person, then after all the shouting and screaming has died down, you backturn and say, OK, we're getting extra desks, so everyone will have their own desk, but they'll still have to share a room.

Are you questioning these reports posted in the news?

Paperwork problems almost delayed suburban Chicago resident Sheri Zajcew’s scheduled surgery Thursday, but Dr. John Venetos decided to operate without a routine go-ahead from the insurance company. That was after Venetos’ office manager spent two hours on hold with the insurer Thursday, trying to get an answer about whether the patient needed prior authorization for the surgery. The office manager finally gave up.

Dr. Office spends two hours on Hold

Hospital staff in Northern Virginia are turning away sick people on a frigid Thursday morning because they can't determine whether their Obamacare insurance plans are in effect.
Patients in a close-in DC suburb who think they've signed up for new insurance plans are struggling to show their December enrollments are in force, and health care administrators aren't taking their word for it.
In place of quick service and painless billing, these Virginians are now facing the threat of sticker-shock that comes with bills they can't afford.
'They had no idea if my insurance was active or not!' a coughing Maria Galvez told MailOnline outside the Inova Healthplex facility in the town of Springfield.
She was leaving the building without getting a needed chest x-ray.
'The people in there told me that since I didn't have an insurance card, I would be billed for the whole cost of the x-ray,' Galvez said, her young daughter in tow. 'It's not fair – you know, I signed up last week like I was supposed to.'
The x-ray's cost, she was told, would likely be more than $500.

They have no idea if my insurance is real
Granted even I think this last woman should have made the call and gotten an Group number or the hospitals should have a hot line they can call with all the necessary subscriber information to get the approval.

I don't Believe For A minute Any Of This Is Obamacare Doom Porn, This Is A Lot Of Broken Promises and A Very Bad Idea Forced On the American People, Not For The Benefit Of Any American, But The Benefit Of The People Who Control Our Health Insurance and Big Pharmaceuticals.
IMO

ETA: I found this and I think every Obamacare person should have had this memorized. But then again, The idiots that created this POS only assumed you'd use your insurance for a Doctor visit not the E R.
They just didn't think!

Here's something interesting about Obamacare that I didn't realize til just today when I received a memo about it. It holds true at least for our state, maybe not for others?... In our state, since the state legislature is full of idiots there's only two insurances that are involved with Obamacare. One is Coventry and the Other is Blue Cross.

Group number for Coventry One starts with a 66666 prefix. Name of the plan for Blue Cross is Pathway X. Interesting given that X is seen by some as a satanic symbol as is the 666 numbers... Not sure of the secret meaning of 4 sixes in a row though.

Sounds more and more like a Socialist Country IMO

"Toto, I don't believe we are in Kansas any more"

Sounds more like Italian Fascism to me...

You can be a doctor, but you must never step outside of our regulations and we have a regulation for everything. You can be a guitar maker, but you will make the guitars exactly how we specify. You can own a TV channel, but you must follow these guidelines precisely and air content we specify. If you make any decisions on your own as a business owner that are not inline with what the people, via the government, dictate in your line of business, you will lose your permit to conduct business and the people, via the government, may exercise the right to place you in a work camp, gulag, or prison for violating the will of the people.

That's Fascism, not Socialism. Now once government starts owning stock shares in business and all businesses are taxed at over 50%, then you have Socialism. But so far, Obama is lock step in line with the vision of Mussolini. He is a fascist.

I said from the beginning that you will know the Obamacare Affordable Care Act is complete when vaccinations are required and forced on people who don't want them; and don't be surprised when these vaccinations have "unintended" side affects like sterilizing a third of African American men and women that receive them.

Not sure what type of treatments you are receiving for your migraines, but I also went through approximately a 12-month period where I had a constant, continual migraine. The only thing that would stop them was to take an Imitrex every 12 hours like clockwork, or the migraine would come back. I also had to have injections directly into my occipital nerve in the back of my head to try to stop them. So, if that's the treatment you're having done, that probably won't be covered when your employer plan ends next year.... I mean, it will be covered after you pay your exorbitant deductible. If your migraines are controlled by medication, you're probably okay.

does anyone else get the scary sneaking suspicion this is all being done in an effort to force some form of "flu vaccine" for all on people that wont actually be a flu vaccine at all but something far more sinister, like perhaps "Sterilization"

Refuse to take this "vaccine" and you wont get any more health care at all.

you guys should all check out the tv show "utopia" to get an idea of how bad this could be.

I was there, but I finally got referred to a neurologist who specialized in treating chronic migraine.

Right now, I have a good control regimen so that I only have normal attacks, maybe one a month or every other month that can be easily controlled with either a single zomig or a zomig combined with a prescription naproxen.

Then, I also use trigger identification (sucks that most of mine are light related - strong sunlight is one, flashing lights like fluorescent lighting going bad are another) and symptom management to help further prevent attacks. I also take a daily prevent med which is the one I'm really worried about. For some reason, Topamax works really well for me where most people can't tolerate it well, so it's not commonly used for prevention and might not end up covered in most formularies.

Wait for it...Wait for it...Exodus. I remember when our doctors left for the states when they did not like the way our government health care was run. Maybe they will run back and say Canada is not that bad. Paycheck, pretty well guaranteed or wait and see if the patient is covered or not and do they have the cash to pay the difference. Can you say, Doctor Shortage?
