Moving up in status

How does one become more than a member of this fantastic site and ultimately become a moderator?

By not asking first....

By making a sizeable donation to the Simon Gray entertainment fund. This money will be used for a night of debauchery by Simon Gray and Skeptic Overlord. Many local, state, federal, and possible international ordinances will be broken with the help of your "Moderator selection enhancement" donation. Remember the motto: Donate then Moderate!
