Thousands Scramble to Get Medical Procedures Before Obamacare Begins

With Obamacare coverage beginning in earnest on Wednesday, the Wall Street Journal reports that thousands of people for which Obamacare plans will block some health care access are rushing to get medical tests and procedures done before their pre-ACA coverage is eliminated.

Those who were receiving medical care before being forced to sign up to a new plan on HealthCare.gov will, in many cases, be locked out of hospitals and prevented from seeing doctors who they had typically used. The WSJ contends that about 70% of new plans are more restrictive in the range of doctors and hospitals available to patients than their predecessors.

Fearing that they will be unable to use the doctors and hospitals they want with their new plans, doctors are reporting a massive uptick in the number of patients calling for preventative procedures or moving up their planned surgeries to prevent a disaster once Obamacare measures strike.

The politics of ObamaCare is now melding into the social problem category as well.

People who know for sure that their insurance policy will either end or at least drastically change for the worse are desperately attempting to get things done before Jan 1st when many of their current doctors and/or service structures could stop or become much more expensive if they have to pay extra for something "out of network".

It seems the phrase *Access to* has more than one meaning now.

Many people are also anticipating changes to their employer plans too.

With many new plans having higher deductibles, I think the medical industry is getting better "Access to" your money !!

I was looking at your other thread about sign ups.

They just reported only 10 to 15% have actually paid a premium.

More lying numbers from the Administration.

This thing is doomed....I wish they would face it.

ACA is DOA...

Yep, and most of these problems have been predicted.

The next 3 months will be full of stories about people getting notched and gapped to death (literally).

"Canceled" has more than one meaning too. So does "Covered".

Yes, you get forced to pay a sky high premium for the privilege of a deductible that will bankrupt you without actually gaining you access to either the doctors, facilities or medications you actually need.

But, as the lefties are fond of saying, at least it's something.

This has me thinking that the corrupted judge that called it a tax might have been right, since this thing is a big Trojan horse masquerading as a social entitlement, but all that it is made of is 100% fake and non working garbage, except people are told they must buy into it, so maybe it's true identity is a tax after all.. If it is a tax, it is the first tax to ever be implemented that is a tax on fake and counterfeit services mandated by a fake and counterfeit president and all who allowed this.

Amazing how far America has fallen. Right down into hell.

Truly historic to see such a debacle as this and knowing it has made Obama the laughing stock of all creatures everywhere. But in his drunken with narcissism persona, he still thinks he is a king. Hah, what a retard he really is.

The real irony is that if they get their wet-dream wish for a single-payer system, it won't work any better, cover any more, or give you any more access, but it will cost just as much only the money will be buried in a billion and one taxes spread throughout the system, likely in the form of a big, fat VAT added to the same progressive income tax structure we have now.

We'll be just as bankrupt and just a bad off.

But, as the lefties say, then we'll be just like everyone else!
