Yep, northern Pennsylvania & West Virginia look like they have chicken pox, when you zoom in using Google Earth due to all of the frack pads & ponds.
I'm not certain how many waste injection wells those states have. The high-pressure wells are the ones that are thought to generate the earthquakes, but the "normal" fracking can't help the situation.

It won't be long & I may have a front row seat to the fracking!
I'm in north central PA. Our area does not have quakes...yet!!!
A company doing seismic testing for the gas company,
is hounding me to sign for permission to do testing.
Have a few acres in the woods bordering State Game Land.
Went to the public meeting they had a few weeks ago.

My son had talked with some of them off the record earlier,
& basically they said there isn't anyway to stop them!
Thanks to our greedy founding fathers,
most people here do not own the mineral rights to their own land!
And he came right out & said, the gas company has lots of lawyers & uber bucks!!!

Since the land borders SGL, & they are permitting testing & drilling,
they can put up a huge operation right beside us,
& our little piece of peace & quiet will be gone forever!

At the meeting, I asked what the minimum acreage needed was,
just for the concrete well pad. Ten acres!! It will look like a parking lot!
All the trees cut down, roads put in,
a big square of concrete baking in the summer sun,
all the truck traffic, & then the wildlife will disappear!
Not to mention the noise!

He said that's not taking into account, space for all the trucks & equipment,
parking & trailers for employees & personnel, holding pond(s), roads...
People are up in arms, because SGL was supposed to be protected land!

So far, until the testing is complete, they will only say where 2 wells will be.
The other one is on a farm over the hill from there.
I didn't hear of anyone at the meeting that wanted it!

The bedrock is only 2 feet down in most places.
The bore holes for the dynamite & testing are 300 feet deep,
& I forget how many yards apart.
There go the artesian wells & springs!!!
Everyone is feeling very violated right now!!!

If we don't own the mineral rights,
they don't need our permission to test.
The signing is just a formality.

But some of us are not signing 'til the last minute!
So they may have to go to the courthouse themselves,
look up the number of the deed books & page numbers,
then dig through the deed books,
to look up the mineral rights,
& pay to get the information they need!
Make them really earn the mega bucks they are getting!

They might be legally able to screw the little people,
but we won't make it easy for them!!! He, he, he!!!
