Scientists baffled by hundreds of spheres found in hidden tunnels

They look nothing like spheres to me. Just yellow rocks. That would be like calling Mar's moons Deimos or Phobos a sphere.

The spheres are so old they have deteriorated/crumbling from their original shape.

Slayer, i admire your work in general.

But i see no spheres.

No its called he posted the title of the article as is, as is customary to do here at ATS. Having been here as long as you i would think you would know such a thing. In fact I believe in some forums like breaking news it's actually a rule that you have to do that.

I think that the Mexican archeologists are making unfounded assumptions.I think that the"sphere's" are mineral nodules.Formed by some type of chemical reaction.Probably a reaction with the pyrite.I don't think they are for anything.I think that they just are.

The article calls them "glowing" orbs. I wonder if this means they were florescent.
It also states that these objects were actually "clay"...and that the cave's walls were dusted with pyrite.

According to the article they are made of clay.

They are clay balls which, due to other clues, are thought to have been made for ritualistic practices. What purpose exactly is unknown (of course). The press just loves to be able to say scientists are "baffled" though. Ever notice that?
