twitter.com...

this story just popped up. It may turn out to become very interesting. Any help on info is appreciated..
any ideas as to why they've been detained?

The circumstances of their detention were not clear. Photographs of two American passports and embassy identity cards were later disseminated on Twitter. The State Department had no immediate comment. The episode appears to have taken place in a town just southwest of the historic Roman ruins at Sabratha and about an hour’s drive from Tripoli, the capital. The area is not known for anti-Western extremists or other obvious threats. In part because it is a tourist area, the district around Sabratha skews relatively liberal and friendly to Westerners.

They should all be hung for the US involvement in crime against the Libyan people and their government IMO.

Gaddafi was loved by his people and his country was taken care of. His only crime was accepting African Dinar for his oil. He never got to face his accusers despite his year long campaign to convince his neighbors and the world that the accusations were false and they too could be next if they didn't make a stand.

What kind of statement is this? you advocate hanging on people who were not even involved in the attack. Should every country that participated citizens be hung? Thats pretty deep hatred and you are someone i would not like to have a conversation with. statements like that are rash and attention grabbing because your argument holds no credible weight.

Advocating murder and the killing of somebody over political views. You sound just as bad as the guys you're describing.

The tweet said diplomats. They know the score...

If the USG had any spine they would admit to their crimes and come to terms with the Libyan gov. for the release of the otherwise innocent American civilian.

And for the record, did you not see the way that Gaddafi was killed by so called rebel forces that were paid for by America and armed by America. I won't post the video here because it is disgusting.

Tough love eh?

If you don't want to die for your countries crimes then educate yourself so that you don't end up carrying their crap. I bet not one of them cares much for the Libyan people they are there for their own careers. You cannot claim ignorance here, they should have known that they were walking into a crime scene.

"We can confirm that four US military personnel are currently being held in Libyan government custody," said Jen Psaki, State Department spokesperson. "We are seeking to further ascertain the facts and ensure their release. We are in touch with Libyan officials on this issue." It is yet unknown why the American service members are being held, though it is believed that Libya’s Ministry of the Interior detained the four individuals, a senior US Defense Department official told CNN. "We are seeking to further ascertain the facts and ensure their release," said the official. The service members were reportedly in Libya "augmenting security at the US Embassy in Tripoli," the official added.

all relative. I bought a can of smoked oysters today and some of that money went to the government that I'm sure will spend it on things that I don't approve of. Does that make me a criminal?

this reportedly has something to do with the US Embassy in Tripoli. The LIbyan government that arrested the four American military personnel is Obama’s government that came into power after Gaddafi was taken out.

Here is a picture of two of the captured Americans in Sabratha,

At least their alive, unlike the Benghazi four. Meanwhile, Obama continues to kickback on the golf course with Bobby Titcomb.

Well this is beginning to sound like that incident in afghanistan where they arrested the embassy security for being armed. Maybe someone didnt like there security carrying weapons either.

You can look that way when your sure you be back at the embassy by nightfall. The interior minister bit off more then he could chew guarantee he was wishing hed just released them earlier.
