Im in Sth Thailand only 200KM from the Malaysian border and we had a bomb go off 20 KM away in Songkhla.

Ill be in Bangkok from Jan 8th and have no concerns, as long as Im not political or critical of the Police, Army or Royals I would have to be unlucky and be in the wrong place at the wrong time to be in harms way.

Its not as bad as you would think reading the limited news that talks about the area

As for political stuff, always choose to be with the Royals, ALWAYS. I dont really know what is happening there, but I take it, Bangkok = Syria, Southern = Afghanistan, both the mild version.

Armchair warriors actually the best and the only way to fight.

There are so many Cowards that act like Government isn't made of People.

The answer is not Revolution. The answer is organize and vote.

I am tired of hearing we are doomed. Far from it. Negativity won't fix this mess.

It won't happen overnight. We might be ready for a third party.

We might have to work within the system. I will never give up on my Nation.

This mess we are in isn't one persons fault. We are all responsible.

It scares the hell out of me when the brightest people I interact with,

Are so willing to throw in the towel. We must be united. Find a candidate.

Organize to fix this mess. Then we can get back to our petty bickering.

I'm glad there are so many awake there in Thailand, able to freely travel the world, drinking in a bar in a foreign country, all the while being awake to being down trodden by the PTB.

It's not like there are thousands of Thai citizens that are actually down trodden, working in sweat shops so the 'awake' westerners can wear cheap shirts and drink cheap beer on a Christmas night...

One could say well said, but on the other hand you do know that in Thailand theY are revolting against their Government right now? You do know this right? I Think the Thai's and Westener's are aware of the PTB.

I think the fact that they are protesting right now makes the OP more ironic.

Its hard to figure out whats going on here as the locals dont talk about it and the foreigners dont care.
I did make a thread on a few of the issues they got going on here a couple days ago but it was by no means comprehensive. Sadly your 1st assessment of my ignorance was correct lol
