There's something that really bothers about the snakes heads, just looks a bit naive for a tat

No offence meant and for sure I couldn't do better, as a back piece that is what will draw the eye

we have folks here who can do animations. The movement would be choppy, and may not give you the effect you want.

The puzzle box, however...i can do that with a glowing effect in the grooves. Make the images and then let an animator do their magic.
