Christmas, was known as the 'Feast of Saturnalia' by the Romans before it was adopted to be the celebration of Christs' birth.

I used that 4th one for that one avatar I did already.



I'm reminding of that because it would make any other ones done using the same background not quite so unique, or make this avatar not so unique, one of the two.

I don't know if that is important. But it usually is to most people.

You're very welcome.
I decided on snow clouds after I saw how using gradient would have taken away quality from the overall image.
And plus, clouds are pretty.

Played around with quite a lot of blending effects, difference opacity for each effect with different blend mode for shadow, inner shadow, glow, gradient and colour... It turned out not quite what I expected, but looks effective none the less.

The first avatar, I just photoshopped the 2 pics together, but the second one I also played with the lighting and hues a little, to give it a more antique color.

You can find instruction on the first page on how to put it up, and make it big sized. Don't forget to use the blank background, also found on first page of this thread.

Heff reminded me to remind all of you that January 1st, we will be starting a new thread for Avatar Creations

I'm back....

Been working in some remote place again so no connection but this time I brought the laptop so I had some time practicing PS and drawing free hand. It's actually going pretty well but cartoons are better for me as opposed to realistic drawings (the wolfs are still in process B..haha).

I've been working on this X-mas card all week and it's amazing how much work it is to draw a 3d living room and fill it with characters and stuff without over-doing it...

Here's the result:



One thing I have also learned....you can work on the details as much as you like, when you resize your picture a lot is lost. For instance the little boy in the back...

But in the final result not a whole lot remains of the details.....

Oh well....lesson learned!

Obviously I'll be residing in the X-mas avatar creation thread this month (as I guess all you guys will) but I will still be popping in here to help people out.

Talking of which, Lilroanie I'll start on your dogs ASAP!!

I'll have a look at an xmas horse by Friday if one of the guys doesn't do so beforehand. I thought to put an xmas hat on plastic guy but it may be a bit difficult.

Can you re-post the horse image please? I don't seem to have it in my collection, I only have the halloween horse for some reason.
