Wow that's alot of layers you did.
Thank you. The woman is the egg is the separate layer & I have not merged them yet.
I couldn't find the Refine Edge Tool so I used the smudge to try & blend the edges.
I didn't know which would be better the smudge or the blur.
I know there's auto blend but it wasn't working.
So I'm guessing add a layer with some background color matching both
layers to go in between them for a smoother transition? And then some more.

I guess as I progress I'll be adding many more layers.

Off to watch more tutorials.

I can still make changes, I think, if not I have another copy but with 2
eggs added. Thanks for any input.

Good Morning Avatar experts!! Zarniwoop, Cody, and Snarky did such an amazing job on my Christmas avatars, I was blown away. But I have another request if anybody wants to take it on?

I think I want to combine the next 2 holidays into my current avatar. Valentines Day and St. Patrick's Day are both coming up and I figured I would ask while it's still early.

I want to keep the original integrity of my current avatar and add something like green hearts and red 4 leaf clovers raining from the sky kind of playing off the WTF maybe??

Last time I was blown away by giving you all free reign, so if you have a better idea... I am all for it.

There is no rush if anyone wants to take the job on. As always your creative efforts are amazing and greatly appreciated.

Just an idea...do you think if you guys put a compilation of
some top work like a wall, or poster ad, sort of thing and posted
it in the introduction files, could possibly help get you more traffic here?
Then of course follow up with frequent visits.
There are so many members without avatars & they sure are missing
out on the great talent you guys provide.

to get credit.

Hey Ektar,

I was suggesting something similar. I see so many ATS members, even ones with older accounts without an avatar. They might not know this thread exists, or they might not know how to put up an avatar.

I guess we could take turns welcoming new members and putting a link to this thread, but that's just the new members.

What we need is link that automatically generates in the intro forum IMHO

We could ask the mods to link us when they go to give links to T&C's

I go in when I see a newbie and post a link explaining that this is a free service by way of giving back to the community.

We need to think of a way to get it out there on a permanent basis, a forum for avatars if you will, but that's staff stuff and they're pretty busy guys.

Yes I agree & I was going to post in regard to linking a site in my post
but for some reason I thought that was not allowed. Anyway I think
everyone could benefit. You guys benefit by getting to do your magic,
the newbies benefit by receiving a free KICK-A$$ avatar, ALL members benefit
by them knowing they can change clothes often, & the site & staff benefit by
the avatar group being so positive, creative & providing a free service for
everyone to enjoy!

Maybe we could have an instant message with an advertisement that shows
how creative & stylish you guys are that will automatically pop into a new
members mailbox upon joining? That way it wouldn't clutter the site, if that is of
any concern, which I don't think it would be, just covering bases.
Need to think more of where to hit up the regulars...need more TEA out
of Coffee.

I kept seeing avatar creations on "the creator's" banners forever
even though I finally got a picture in my avatar space, I still felt the need to
come check you guys out. I came right before the holidays. Then
everyone was so kind & helpfu. BFFT helped me with my Christmas
avatar, my entry for the contest, plus he made me my new avatar with
one of my dogs & the banner...needless to say I was hooked & now
I'm trying to learn the magic myself. It will take me a while to get there but
I love this site!
People are very kind at helping others & being so positive, it's
a good feeling! So yes we need a way to reach out to the rest of the
members.

Glad you got your banner working with the GOLD it's awesome!

Looking around ..confused

I was also going to Paul Hogan charachter but saw its allready done... lol so i saw Paul Hogan as a Phantom in Paul Hogan show.. but Phantom isn´t much australian...
Another idea was Wolverine.. but it isn´t much australian either.. actor is tho
Then i stopped to think what is Australian.. my time run out but found this old mini serie theme from youtube and remembered that this was a first song my father taught me and i played on my guitar

I agree everyone is so kind and positive here, I love coming back because of the atmosphere, and well to play around with avatars.

I kept seeing the "Avatar Creations" in their signatures too, and I'll tell you something embarrassing but true...

I thought they were fans of the movie 'Avatar'.

Then in October out of curiosity I opened the thread about a Halloween avatar contest, to see what it meant, and got hooked!!!


Also , I read and post on other more serious threads, and it's just so nice to be able to come back here, and not having to talk doom and gloom, and which alien race is going to invade us first.

Ps: I've got my money on the reptilians.

Thanks Cody. It doesn't have to be animated. I didn't count on that at all. I just meant to make it seem like they were falling from the sky. I use my avatar as the background image. If it's animated I can't do that I don't think.

Take your time with whatever you come up with. I am sure it will be awesome as always!

BTW - I pop in here and it appears you all are talking about me... Australia Day!!

This is why I figured it would be a proper challenge for you guys to create something completely foreign, while at the same time taking the mickey. Remember it's supposed to be fun and a bit of ribbing at the same time.

Paul Hogan is considered an idiot by most over here, and the Croc Dundee movies to us are like saying everyone from the US is a gun-toting redneck that loves flags... But it is what it is...

We do have a bit of an international cast here these days, so find the funny in Australia and roll with it.

Bloody hell mate, it is 44C (110F) degrees outside today. Just stick the sig outside for two minutes, that will do it!

The avatar came from a screen shot taken from this video as far as I know. It's the only place I have ever seen it.

I feel for you guys, I got out just before the heatwave hit. My folks said it hit 45C on Tuesday, and it's about the same today. You just can't fathom that kind of temperature.

Spare a thought for family I have working up near Coober Pedy though. 53.7 the other day, only cooled down to 39 at midnight.

Some days the great southern land aint that great...



Spare a thought for these poor buggers though.

I don't have to 'spare' a thought, my eldest is fighting fires today.

It is hot but I am just staying indoors. I can't do much else, the dog cannot go out for more than 15 mins at a time. 44C and Alaskan Malamutes do not mix very well. I can keep most of the house at 28C (86F) during this weather and that is comfy.

When I was a kid, we didn't have air con. What we would have given to just drop the temp by 10 degrees!
