Israel slams reports of U.S. spying on prime minister

Israel reacted angrily Sunday to recent reports that British and U.S. intelligence officials spied on top Israeli officials' e-mails. "The tracking after prime ministers and defense ministers is not legitimate and not acceptable to us," the spokesman of Intelligence Minister Yuval Steinitz said, according to a CNN translation. "There is an intelligence alliance between (the United States and Israel) at an unprecedented level, and we are sharing the most sensitive (intelligence) material." On Friday, The Guardian, The New York Times and Der Spiegel newspapers reported that the communications of more than 1,000 organizations and individuals were monitored from a facility in southwest England.

Some say turnabout is fair play. Israel has always had more spies in the US than any other nation including China and Russia. And they even have the guts to tell a lie like this one.

Israel has said it would never spy on the U.S. in the wake of the conviction of a former U.S. Navy intelligence analyst who was caught spying for Israel in 1985.

everyone spies on everyone, the big joke here is that someone is suprised by the negative reaction, look, it will always be there, it happens in corporations, socialist or any type of government, activist groups, high school football, and even dare I say, neighborhoods....trust, but varify is a way of life on many scales, but to be "shocked" is standard reaction by anyone, sorry, but non issue, do you have any other anti zionist issues buster???? patterns can be interesting....

What a newsflash. I’m shocked. Surely we wouldn’t do a thing like that. There must be some sort of mistake here. I hope we didn’t hurt their feelings too much. Bless their hearts.

I think I’m gonna puke. I’m so sick of all these countries coming out like they’re absolutely mortified by the U.S. and it’s immoral activities and methods. This stuff has been going on forever. We do it, they do it, everybody does it. To each other! That’s just the way it goes. Besides, it keeps people like 007 off the streets and out of the unemployment line, and we don’t wanna mess with Bond.

I only have 2 words for them, “Screw ‘em...”

Shalom...

So pointing out how Israel cries when they think America is spying on them but then lies about spying on America makes me anti Zionist? Let me guess you are one of those people who thinks nothing should be said about Israel no matter what they do right?

Thats the thing, SOP is to react negatively, you must maintain credibility, therefore you act pissed...everyone does this, these people know there are spies in every corner... government, corporations, groups, religions, the list goes on and on...you must save face and act outraged or you look like a pawn.... again a non issue.....everyone/everywhere....

Hmmm.... We probe Indian diplomats, eavesdrop G-20 attendees, snoop on the cell phones of top German ministers and more, force down the plane of a South American head of state on a hunch, stick the Churchill bust in a particularly UNattractive little corner, call Jerusalem "Al-Quds" early on and now? Well...We're peeking in the private matters of the Israeli Prime Minister.

Oh did I mention we may have been up to no good in Turkey to overthrow them through opposition and Ukraine really isn't impressed with us for the same reasons?

I'm losing track of how many allies we've messed with to almost deliberately alienate the planet. The list of nations NOT offended is becoming the shorter on balance, to be sure ..and half of that one probably IS adversary nations.

I really think we could have done without getting caught as peeping toms right in the window again. This is getting ...self-defeating.

If anyone needs spying upon Isreal ranks up there with Iran and North Korea.

In this case the NSA and CIA are doing its job and what they are paid to do.

Buster, everyone here knows your stance on the people of Israel, time after time, it is the same target. My issue is very simple, there is evil everywhere, and there is good in few places these days. We have a mega load of problems on this smelly rock and they do not all point in one direction. You say all Israel is just evil and can do no good if they tried (the pattern I see) They are not all bad, and after the 1967 clash if you will, I would react the same. Spying is normal operations in a non trusting enviornment, and acting shocked is a standard reaction. I have many friends in places I would never live, but I want no destruction on anyone as long as they have the same heart....

I talk about the government not the people and I have never said that all the people there are bad. If you don't like how I point out Israels hypocrisy and how they mimicking the Nazis then don't read my threads.

ROFLMAO

The biggest spy network in the world, who routinely spy on all nations daily, regularly misuse international treaties and abuse diplomatic privilege and understanding, who create fake passports for their minions like others create farts, are pining because they were spied on????

...riiiiight.

Pfft. More hooey and distraction.

"Clash" in 67??
What is this you speak of?
I only know of a premeditated murder plot, not simply a "clash".
Besides, an ally would not "clash" with you.
Funny thing, this was not the first time or last that israeli terrorists would plan to murder US citizens.
So if we must spy on these terrorists like the others then so be it, apparently the spying is justified on them.
If the terrorists don't like it, I say we cut all funding and we let them fight their own battles finally.
Why do we have lawmakers that have dual citizenry between US and israel, you can serve only 1 master.

Days ahead of you, start a thread and I'll blow your mind just before the thread gets 404'd for the info.
Regardless, israeli terrorists are one of the groups I don't mind the US spying on.
They have proven to be deadly to US citizens far too much.
The only reason they whine so loudly is they don't want the major part of the US to figure out just what they have been up to.
Who knows, maybe their next target will be the nsa Utah branch???

We are all monitored by various intelligences,so if we do not want to be caught and exposed,we should avoid shouting it out on the net or on the media or simply not to do "unlawful" acts at all!...But the fact that spying on people makes them uneasy and uncomfortable and it is itself by definition an unlawful act, remains the same regardless.
