Okay.

I don't usually pull rank around here, but I have been on this site for 3 years and have never (though nearly) gotten banned! I try and I try to add to the moronic-element of this site and think that I do it quite well!

Well, it's Christmas Eve and I miss my wife and sons like crazy! I know it was of my own doing, it was to get a great job in an awesome part of the country, but. . . . .

I need cheering up NOW!

So snap to it! Chop-chop! (claps hands)

GET IT DONE PEOPLE!

If I'm not mistaken, you have a bottle of scotch handy. Get the Mrs. on the phone in one hand and a glass in the other and enjoy...even if it's long distance.

Just try not to drink so much as you do have to work tomorrow.

Many of us have been there before.

Popping in to offer up a hug & fresh, steaming cup of coffee to anyone who needs them (I also have hot chocolate & tea if someone doesn't want coffee)

I had about 3 hours of sleep last night, and am running on second wind squirrely delirium right now. I'm keeping it together, but I wouldn't put it past myself to post something dorky/dopey/stupid before I crash for the night, lol.

What could possibly say Christmas

The lack of sleep can be almost as fun as being buzzed.

Except in the morn when you wake up and say...I DID WHAT!? You can't blame the booze in that case.

I posted this over in the "Bah Humbug" thread, but I think it applies here as well. Just for grins and giggles. So, for Christmas...

I haven't played on my XBox in over a half a year, So I got me some beer and I'm going to shoot bad guys and play some golf afterwards.

Hell, with a day like that, maybe I oughta run for Prez!

Any advice for me?

From 2008 to 2011 and in spring 2012 for two weeks, I had recurring anxiety attacks, and I fear they may be coming back soon.

i recommend high quality brainwave entrainment tracks (search the net), but nothing with too much delta frequency so not the holosync program. it will eliminate your anxiety i think. that, lots of water and exercise, good nutrition, and quality human interaction. but's it a brain and nervous system thing and a habituation of certain styles of run on thought and addiction to worry i think which is easily treated with brainwave optimization therapy or hemispheric synchronization aka whole brain functioning.

Many people are addicted to worrying, but there's hope.

A working theological framework by which to enter the fray with one's entire being can also be very helpful, and it works for people in AA to generate a relationship with a higher power beyond themselves. Being most helpful to others to get out of self would also work wonders.

No fear only faith.

Just my thoughts for whatever it's worth.

May this year represent the permanent lifting of your anxiety and depression syndrome. Looking back on it in the future, you may even come to find it humorous although i realize it's hard to see it that way at this point.

Best regards, and God Bless you Zagari.

NAM

Hello & Merry Christmas!
I too suffer from anxiety & panic attacks. Anxiety started in Jan 2011 due
to job situation. It was mild then & off & on. By April I started on meds
& they weren't working & by Oct 2011 I switched ADHD medications due to price.
I had every bad side effect & I mean extremely bad except suicide. That drug
pushed my anxiety over the edge & into panic attacks as well. I still suffer from
both. What has helped me the most is a book suggested by a psychologist friend
of mine called "The Open-Focused Brain" by Les Fehmi, Phd & Jim Robbins.

It basically retrains your brain...it has exercises & a CD. Too much info to put here
but you can find plenty of info as he is very famous.

I noticed help very early on within days to a week. But it's a long term practice
self guided, 30 min sessions 2 to 3 times a day.

So I hope this may help everyone is different.

Happy Holidays to you!

Cheers
Ektar

OMG that really brings back memories as I have been there just for that parade!
Bloody been too long, I miss the San Fernando Valley & LA! I haven't been back for
a visit since Dec 2007. I spent most of me adult life there.

Even though it makes me a little sad, it also brings me joy to relive the
parade & remember me friends! Thank you & Merry Christmas!

Cheers

LOL, it sure can be. I actually feel like I've had a beer or two, and I haven't had any since summer.

It's not Christmasy, but this is the kind of mood I'm in tonight. Weird Al makes everything better. Star Trek makes everything better. Mix the two, and it's pure awesomeness.

Edit:
Then again, watching Donny Osmond in the background of the official vid cracks me up every. time.
