The cynicism is the only truth in this statement. In reality...no.
I made a commitment to my wife that she would be my only mate, and she did the same to me. Over the last 2 decades, it has changed. Somewhere along
the way, it stopped being "sex", and started being....something more. Those readers who have such a relationship will know what I mean. Those that
don't...i believe I am incapable of really describing it. And if i tried, would likely embarass myself and my wife.
Beyond that, there is a whole lot more. Sex is only part of it. She is my catalyst and my potentiator. I hope you can experience it one day....it
really is pretty wonderful.
That's awesome dude, but this isn't about you, or me, or any one person. My post was a general statement that marriage is essentially legalized
prostitution. In other words, one need not go to the court house next to the dept. of motor vehicles, sign a contract with the state of _________,
and hand over their VISA card & keys to their house to a female. If that worked for you, hey, that's fantastic, (seriously). The dynamics of your
particular relationship may have superseded the just mentioned, but the just mentioned has absolutely nothing to do with love, and everything to do
with money, property, & ownership, i.e., legalized prostitution.
Disclaimer (sigh): The statement that marriage is essentially legalized prostitution is a general statement that is generally true. There are always
exceptions to every rule, but the exceptions prove the rule. For example, did you hear about the guy who jumped out of a 10 story building and lived?
But who wants to jump out of a 10 story building? When you see a 20 something smoking hot blonde driving a 100k mercedes do you think to yourself,
"Wow, she must have a really great job." Of course not! Are there smoking hot 20 something year old blondes that just bought a 100k Mercedes from
their great job? Of course, but in general, there's a man somewhere paying for all that. Marriage has zero benefit for a man, and if things
don't work out, the female is (often) gonna take at least half the man's stuff. Criminal, family, and child support courts all favor the female.
Men know this, and many, (not all), end up as, "hostages," in their own home as a result of this reality. Are there women who make more than the
man? Of course, but in general, the man makes more than the woman, and in general women seek men who have a higher income. One can go on & on & on
ad nauseam with disclaimers and clarifications, but marriage, (not necessarily yours, or his, or hers, etc.), for most in the USA is essentially,
whether or not the male even intended it to be, legalized prostitution. Not that there is anything at all wrong with legalized prostitution. My post
concluded that I find it interesting that many married people will not admit that it is indeed (most of the time) legalized prostitution as
constructed by the society we live in, not necessarily anyone's fault per se. However, if a finger is to be pointed at this train wreck, the finger
should be pointed at weak-spined men who are too scared of women and the ever present, "White Knights."
