They successfully departed Arusha after lightening the aircraft. It sounds like the crew screwed up in the first place though. Both Arusha and
Kilimanjaro have runways lined up in the same direction, with Arusha being much shorter. The crew was advised of the Cessna that was stuck, but had
over 10,000 feet of runway left they could have used. They called airport in sight as required, but when flying their base leg the tower lost radio
contact with them. A short time later they received a call from Arusha that a 767 had just landed there and went off the runway.
