Perhaps most famous for his role in Lawrence of Arabia.

Awwww. Bad news, I always had a soft spot for him, not only because we shared the same birthday.

Great actor!
IO grew up with watching him on the big screen.
Sad loss, but we all must say goodbye at some point....

I distinctly remember this having already happened about five years ago, right after he made his last film.

I must have jumped timelines again.

Does anyone else remember Peter O'Toole having died some years back?

I've had several 'celebrity deaths' hop multiple timelines, so just ignore me if it never happened to you.

Yes, I remember his death being reported shortly after Gladiator came out.

Awwww. Sad day.

I remember him best in "High Spirits" (1988) as Peter Plunkett. One of my favourite movies when I was young.

Every time I say the phrase, "what is going on here?" I hear it as Peter Plunkett saying it in that movie.

"What is going on here? Eamon? Why are chunks of masonry floating about?"

The scary bit would be if he did actually die before and they're betting on folks not remembering during a slow news week!

I really liked Peter O'Toole, especially in "The Ruling Class" - which is why I distinctly remember his death having taken place about 5 or more years ago.

Thanks to all who seconded me on that!

Don't allow numpties to derail your thoughts and respect for the man. They live in a world of their own. Live and let live.

See how sharp he is here, at the release of Troy (2004), almost 10 years ago. despite the dodgy European interview. Brilliant.

QUESTION :

Is there any movie he made after the timeline jump?

And the wild carousing back in the day with Rich (Burton) and the rest-- real-time nearly "Becket" with a Triumph instead of a horse! These guys worked and played very hard-- ahh, balance.

Next sunset I'll hoist a thimble of the Old Pinch and remember one of very few who inspired me, and made that tear in the eye today.

So it was and more each day until your last, Murph. Rest easy.
