I use it to stay in contact with family and friends who do not live near me. I also try and enlighten people who post incorrect information regarding conspiracy topics.

Try sending a message to super mods or the site owner.

They might not want to take issue with the subject publicly but if you address the issue in private maybe it will be easier.

I do do that, but it becomes tedious after awhile. Half the time its not even the OPs who author the double threads fault as even if you use the search engine it rarely shows any useful results. I know as I've tried searching for threads I know exist and have been unable to find them using it. I use Google now for searching for ATS threads.

Greetings Kingears. I've checked into what happened on Facebook and your post was only "hidden" not removed. When a post is hidden, it's only visible to you and you're friends. The word filter for the Page is set pretty high so I would assume it caught a false-positive. I've made your post visible to all. Sorry for the inconvenience.

No, I wish for a public answer to this, no secret squirrel messages. I want people to know that they censor comments on their fb page and restrict people from commenting on their posts.

You should try to keep private (family and some friends) separated from conspiracy imo. When you try to correct incorrect statements about conspiracies you assume you have the correct information. Denying ignorance starts with acknowledging your own ignorance. Once you know it all no one will understand you lol

Btw I'm in no way saying you are right or wrong I'm just referring to a basic principal of philosophy "the more you know, the more you understand you don't know anything at all"

I believe he means the ones that look like a thumbs up, text box and a folded page. Click on that and there's a scroll down that occurs.

To the OP, if it is that important, save your posts to your machine. You do have some valid points but I don't think they will be resolved here.

I have never moderated on this site (nor been asked to). I am a long standing member that has, over the years, changed the way I use ATS in significant ways.. I tell you that to tell you this:

People who do not "get" that ATS has to have some limits on the insanity that is allowed to happen here are likely not the folks that will benefit ATS in the long run, anyway. I hear whining about freedom of speech, as if this were a public place and not privately owned. But folks seem to forget that with freedom comes the responsibility of using it properly. Freedom is not a weapon by which one should act obnoxiously. This is why Pythagoras said, "When free men require laws, they are no longer fit for freedom". Thoreau mentioned that when men were ready, they would have a system by which there was no system.

Thus, it is the unfortunate truth that we share the internet with an unending supply of tomfoolery and poppycock. The drug talk...well we certainly don't want to attract the typical drug culture mindset. The same with the Hitler worship. We absolutely don't want that crowd around here. And as it applies to your sentiment that "ATS needs us"....no they don't. They don't need people who cannot follow the common theme of how the site is intended to work. It is an open forum for civil disourse on conspiracy topics. It isn't a place where we will create a mob to track down individuals standing nearby the Boston Bombing. Nor is it a place where we will debase our intelligence by posting racy and pornographic material.

The censorship is something I criticize quite openly. But I still have to recognize that there are limits to what ATS, as a business that I enjoy the free use of, should allow me to do.

Listen, I totally understand that there HAS to be a cap on the insanity. The topics in which i see being 404'd and censored are not remotely close to some of the stuff that IS allowed to remain a active topic. I mean if what your saying is true, and i agree with it, why are things like pledeian aliens, fake ufo vides, freaking bigfoot topics. All of these less credible things are allowed to be discussed, as a distraction?

RELIES on content from US. So give yourself more credit my friend. Everything we do on here, from researching topics, debunking claims, ETC. The 4 topics that are not allowed here are nothing to the extreme of hitler worship, drug glorification or use, or even stalking people for blowing up the boston marathon. I'll message you for further clarification if your curious. If not, well it does what it's told or it gets the hose again!?!? lol.

A site claiming to deny ignorance and harping on free expression should really have a answer to the topics that i caught them 404'ing. I'm not demanding or trying to be rude but the credibility is totally on the line. And after deleting my comment on the alien spider thing filmed in Russia. That was the last straw. I told people it's not a hoax because ATS has no proof of it being a hoax. I told everyone to think and research for themselves and find out why it's a hoax. Is it likely a hoax? Sure, but has it been proven at all? Absolutely not. I'm one person in a small group of 300 online where we discuss certain conspiracies. Our group is watching this site closely and i think we have our answer to the credibility of this site.

I don't think you understand. It has nothing to do with credibility. It has everything to do with user experience. Who will keep coming back to read known hoax threads? Who wants to share their forum with skinheads and potheads? I wish them all the best...in another forum. Same with hoaxers...we have a writers forum for fiction. There is a time/place for everything.

I haven't changed my personal settings or any settings for that matter. I can't see any reason for Facebook to stop me posting comments or liking ATS posts, so that only leaves ATS as the problem imo, but you say its nothing you've done. Doesn't really help me solve the issue though.

First let me apologize that I didn't fully address your situation. I was running some errands when I received an alert on this thread and tried to address it in a parking lot leaching off R.E.I's internet

The post itself wasn't the issue, it was the comment you left on the Facebook page itself. I've tried locating the post because I did delete/ban you from the Facebook Page and the stats only show User Posts from December 5th.

I realize this means a lot to you, so I've lifted the ban from the ATS Page. For future reference please do not post material that is banned from discussion on ATS or market pages or websites on the ATS Facebook Page. Thank you.
