When we have soldiers across the world dying for our country and we have athletes here in the U.S. providing entertainment. Why are the athletes
getting paid millions of dollars while our soldiers are actually making a real sacrifice. I believe that this is wrong. Entertainment is important,
but losing or winning a game is not a matter of life and death. Soldiers should have priority of salary.

I completely agree. I think that athletes are seriously overpaid and that doctors, teachers, police, military, etc. should be paid more for the
sacrifices and contributions they make.

When the government is for the people by the people and of the people then the people make the decisions and the people of this country have decided
that giving athletes millions is much more important then giving our citizen soldiers millions.
The citizens of America have decided. The vast majority of the citizens of America never lifted a finger for their country so it is easy for them to
think this way.
America is a democracy and even if the people are wrong it doesn't matter.

Finally someone who agrees with me. Other people argue that soldiers do get paid very well. Well my butt. If anyone is making millions it should be
the soldiers.

Soldiers have always been pawns. We have the highest paid mercenary force in the world. Why do you think they are mistreated?

People are ignorant. Exactly my point. They would rather watch some guy hit a homer, or dunk the ball, than support the people who really matter.
Because if we didn't have soldiers then guess what?!?! we wouldn't have our athletes because there is no one to protect us.

I didn't say they are mistreated. The argument I'm trying to establish is why do athletes get priority over our troops.

That makes me laugh. If you read history, America finds wars to fight. When was the last time we had pitch battle in America against foreign invaders?

Look at the NHL they felt they weren't getting paid enough to play hockey. Our athletes have been trained since school that they are superior to
everybody elses. They don't care about the game anymore, they want money and they think that they deserve it.

The only reason whe didn't have any wars on our soil is because we stopped them before they got here. That's why our soldiers are important.

Who did we stop? Why not invade Canada? They only have rusty muskets protecting their shore.

During the WWII when Japan sneak attacked Pearl Harbor that's when we were in trouble. Logically, if we didnt have anyone to protect us what would
stop them from invading the U.S. And now that almost everyone in the world hates us, protection is more vital than ever.

Athletes are paid what they are paid because of the supply and demand. What athletes do draws in a lot of money, especially now, in the days of
broacasting contracts and endorsements. So, if you watch professional sports or even buy the products that support sports teams and athletes, you are
the problem. It's as simple as that.
When people get tired of the stupid and criminal antics of the goons who masquerade as athletes these days, they will stop supporting them. Just
don't hold your breath.

Me, personally, do not watch Professional sports. I feel college is more morally structural and tries there best to keep their students in the best
of situations. The money and support from the World for Pro sports goes to the Pros heads and I guess they think their invicible or immune to
justice, but thats off the point.

I would just like to point out to both DirtyWater and the 'coward that we haven't fought any wars on our soil since the 19th century and that we
have been attacked on our own territory several times in the twentieth century.

That's communism. You know, the redistribution of wealth.
Athletes turn a profit. Soldiers don't. Soldiers are bought and sold rather cheaply nowadays. It may not be nice, but it's the truth.
Patriotism is easily exploited.
