I wish I could post this in every forum. However, it's worth a watch.

Perhaps it's time to talk to someone.

Profound video although I don't like the fact they use a black dog to represent this sad reality.

Maybe they should have used a black.. man.. called Barack Obama?

'I had a black president... his name was... depression/corruption'

Yep, that would've do it.

Yep. It's that time of the year where "The Black Dog" likes to visit more folks more frequently. I hope everyone has someone they can talk to and I hope they don't feel so terribly alone. It's hard to shake it once it's upon you.

Thanks for the share.

Yeah, why would the author use a dog?
I dunno bout the rest of the world but, when I come home my doggies are running wild and overjoyed to see me.
They are a ray of sunshine.
The author needs to find a better idea.

They used to call it a monkey on your back.

Good analogy, but I still find it insulting to Dawgs. Most dogs are loving creatures and can help immensly with depression.

I think the author was just trying to incorporate "the size" of the problems. I.e. sometimes it can be big sometimes it can be small......... Like dogs, But overall, you should take the time to talk to someone.

Hey TDawg!

I always thought that the " Monkey on your back " was ... 'some' unresolved issue ie. finally paying off a card etc.

Either way - this is an issue that presents itself, with particular gusto; every year at this time.

Easy said - but this is a good time to get involved with your own local communities, some good things -
just could be sitting there awaiting your input...

( Never say Die - 'till a dead horse kicks you ! )

I've tried the volunteer thing and have been always turned away. Of course, I only volunteer for causes I like, such as animal shelters, Habitat for Humanity, etc.

I'm at the verge of volunteering at a local church (and I'm not even religious!) in the hopes of helping.

I do donate to charity...but there is a part of me that is saying "save it for yourself...you'll need it soon."

Maybe there is a reason why there is also the saying, "Charity begins at home."

Hey TDawg !

I would hate for this to sound - glib !

A thought just came to mind ...
Imagine your TDawg - inner self - Shaking the monkeys off your back. ( like a dog shaking off a soaking lol.)

Then visualise the weight lifted ... and write your next chapter.

Sorry to over-simplify, my spidey senses tell me you are between a rock and a hard place. ( read your thread man ! )

Up and Over.

No smilies ... Just positive good wishes .

Thanks...and positive wishes back at ya. Not really between a rock and hard place, but rather I have some hard decisions to make. Just weighing the options right now.
