Alright no fighting over the North Pole, that belongs to Santa. As for the rest I think I have a solution. How about this?

Ahahaha, what planet do you live on? That is far to agreeable and sane of a solution to be allowed.

"We may have some small overlaps in the middle, but for the most part there will not be any overlap between the Russian submission on the one side and the Canadian and Danish submissions on the other," he said.

It all depends on how valuable Canadian officials think that real estate is, said Huebert.

"Maybe it's simply not worth it. Maybe we said, 'You know what, for the sake of international peace and stability, it's not important. We'll only do our science up to that and that will be the basis of our claim.'

From this article, it doesn't sound like Canada is really challenging Russia's claim too much.
We've generally always gotten along well with Russia, and are also trading partners.

We won't be having to learn to speak Russian anytime soon. At least that issue would have been much easier than learning Chinese.....

Putin shows he will attack thru the North Pole. That could well be a delusional move. But in fact his latest biggest drill in recent history of Russia and USSR was at the Far Eastern border with China. Putin is very smart guy and he knows well that China could be treacherous and attack Russia when it expects it least. No matter or words and declarations, or treaties. Nazi Germany had a treaty with USSR and that didn't stop the Germans to sneak attack it.

In such scenario China will take large pieces of land along the Siberian railroad cutting off communications and taking whole cities by surprise. Perhaps both Mongolia and Kazakhstan would be invaded too. They cannot resist. Will Putin nuke Russia's own cities invaded by Chinese? Where should he nuke to stop them - in Kazakhstan may be? Isn't it just too close and inconvenient from any perspective to use nukes on USSR territory? And what matters for a Chinese zealous invasion if it is nuked back home? They don't count the population. If they dared to challenge USA with that map of invasion.

This is a nightmare scenario for Putin that he might have meditated it quite much, before he ordered a snap drill in midnight of Siberia to Sakhalin.

This puts other sets of questions where exactly the "West" stands with its relations with Russia. Isn't it better for USA to maintain the Russian state rather than to give victory of China over half of European continent.
