When I was playing WoW regularly (up to about a year ago) it was pretty much a given that the government was listening in.
I wonder if they were the reason for all of the inane chatter in Barrens Chat?

Ya, because the terrorists on XBL wouldn't be in a private chat. Apparently they are supposed to discuss their terrorist plots in the open game lobbies. Seriously, this is the best the government, who spies on people for a living, could come up with? It just seems like a waste of resources, with very little return to be expected. Probably zero return. There are just better ways for terrorists to keep their electronic communications anonymous or private.

And how do you think they find out what people are plotting in a cave somewhere in the middle east that is a secret meeting? People pass information.

Anything on the net can be gathered. It is not hard to gather even private chats. In Second Life, sim owners can plant programs that catch everything, including private chat.

Given all of the issues with Secret Service and FBI hooking up with prostitutes, it's pretty darn certain that they're hanging out in Pornshire

World of Warcraft you say? Must be coincidence:

Brevik has questioned said that he spent much time in the game World of Warcraft... 32-year-old has previously explained his movements on Utøya as if he were in a violent computer game. Seven years ago he took a year off to concentrate on the game at full time.

A former classmate from the University of Colorado suggested another cause for the killings, describing Holmes as someone who had lost touch with reality after becoming 'obsessed' with video games.
'I can’t remember which one but it was something like World of Warcraft, one of those where you compete against people on the internet.
'He did not have much of a life apart from that and doing his work. James seemed like he wanted to be in the game and be one of the characters.

"He played video games in his room without leaving on weekdays, including "World of Warcraft" and other online games, during this period."

Barrens chat, chuck norris jokes, general chat in general. I swear if they were in my guild they were bored to tears by our laid back raid approach this expansion. Wonder if they were the ones who started all the stupid conversations and did some sort of psych approach to analyze responses or something. What a waste of government money, and where do I sign up.

Well i am sure the NSA agents will feel quite at home being an orc in WoW.

Stupid, dum, clueless, barbaric, ugly bullyboys ransacking human women and children in foreign lands.

Hmmm, nothing new there then.

Nuke the orcs.

I think not.

All those guys also had no motivations for their crimes.

Breivik and Holmes also had little or no memory of the event. Both had the same classic blank, expressionless look on their faces. In both instances there were multiple indications of more shooters.

Unless you can come up with some kind of a realistic motive, I'll go with the MK-Ultra theory, perhaps using online RPGs to manipulate the designated patsy.
