Snack Dispenser

I mean no disrespect to anyone or anything, except perhaps the AA show
in this case. And I'm not throwing rocks at the show either.. the episode
was very entertaining.. Prometheus Entertainment can really entertain
sometimes..

But the way they portrayed the "Ark of the Covenant" was like some
nuclear-powered, but very dangerous snack dispenser.

I for one, had never heard about 'mana' (snack food) being stored
inside of the Ark of the Covenant.

They went over this quite thoroughly.. for at least 10 minutes..
so that phrase "Nuclear-powered but very Dangerous Snack Dispenser"
popped into my mind and reduced me to helpless giggles.

I don't know if this episode had a similar effect on anyone else.

I'm not wanting to discuss the Ark or anything like that in this
thread.. I just want to see if I'm the only person who reacted
this way.

That epithet makes as much sense as calling it "a radio for talking with God."

The manna stored in the ark was not for consumption but as a record of God's providence.

The Ark also wasn't nuclear powered.

It was an Acacia wood box, covered in gold leaf and with an ornate solid gold lid.

It contained:
* Two 'tablets' of stone with the Ten Commandments written on them by the finger of God.
* A jar of Manna, which was a normally perishable food that fell from heaven and sustained the nation of Israel for 40 years while they were wandering in the desert.
* The shepherds staff of Aaron, Moses brother in law. This wooden staff had budded and so was miraculous.
* The original Torah scroll, written by Moses.

Despite what these shows always depict, the Ark never "sent out rays", was never an assurance of victory in battle (in fact was captured after TWO losing battles with the Philistines) and never displayed any sort of "electrical effect" (it gave the Philistines a bad case of Hemorrhoids, among other things, so they returned it to the Israelites). Please read the actual accounts, they are funnier and more poignant than the "Indiana Jones" fictions.

To each their own what they find funny.

I'm sure God must have a sense of humor.

I thought it was funny. I didn't get a chance to see it yet. It is still on the dvr.
Did they show that wacky mana machine again that the German guy made? It was on a previous episode, it looked like a 1950's bad sci-fi robot

They did! And claimed that one like it was inside the Ark!
Thus the subject of my post!
I have trouble breathing sometimes I get to laughing so much.
I guess I have a warped sense of humor or something.

The standard retort is, "Yes! After all he made us".
