The dragon mentioned here is the Roman Empire:

In verse 2, the beast is compared to the lion, leopard and bear because those animals are kingdoms like the beast. The dragon is Rome. Those animals are the same of the book of Daniel and it is interesting to note that Daniel didn’t know how to call the 4th animal, it was different from the other kingdoms, the dragon gave its power to the beast, in other words, Imperial Rome gave its power to religious Rome: the papacy

By chance, in headlines or whatever, I've come across Pope Francis news that grabs my attention. Usually this is not the case so I started to jot things down.

I don't think any of these things are bad. On the contrary. He has upstanding qualities and is refreshing as far as a figure head goes. If only all leaders could be so humble and open minded. It's almost shameful that I would even consider he may match what the bible speaks of. Because the Catholic Church is clearly a central player in end time events, I'm likely just now examining him more carefully due to the fact that he keeps coming to my attention. The bible states the antichrist will be deceptive so I can justify my questioning things with that in mind.

Random things Pope Francis has said/done that have caught my attention.

June 2014 - had a prayer meeting with the president of Israel and Palestinian leader, Abbas.
Then said he didn't want to get in the middle of their conflict or try to bring about peace between them (doublespeak). He sat between the two at a procession. He intends to continue to have these prayer meetings with all religious beliefs and prayers honored.

Has been called a pope who inspires even non Catholics as an example to look up to and many are. I can't remember the title of this article.

"Charismatic pope takes world by storm". He is indeed charismatic. Kind and open to all. Cracked jokes on the gay lobby within the church. Is also not against gay priests nor afraid to speak about the topic. Playful with good humor in addition to being blunt in public on topics he speaks about. More interesting to listen to than past popes.

Says if all are good they will go to heaven. No need to believe in Jesus. This may not have been what he meant but this is how it was taken by many. He said all are made from God and therefore if they do good things they will go to heaven.

Some characteristics that are exemplary but worth mentioning. Again, it's shameful to be suspicious of anyone who comes across as a true saint but because of the vigilance we are told to keep, it seems like something to add. These are definitely things that seem to good to be true, and would also draw a lot of love from the people. I wish all leaders could have them, yet it's so rare.

Humility. Eats with the poor, irons his own clothes, has small living quarter away from the palace, washes the feet of young boys in prison, etc.

Is beginning to talk about changing laws within the church. Women as Priests, etc.

Maybe he is a forerunner for someone else (unknowingly), and his attractiveness as a model human being is a way to change the church to be more appealing. This would certainly make it easier for the next Pope.

I'm watching this Pope with wary eyes, too.

I don't have anything against Catholics being suspicious of the Revelation interps that put the Church at the end times, but he's verging into territory that's slipping dangerously far from what I recognize in my Bible. Catholics, for all their differences, never really did that so much before and in so many alarming ways.

Salvation is so much more than simple works. Works are inspired by salvation.

If you think that ecumenism with islam and "jews" and all other religions of the world are a good thing then you are lost.

If you think that Cardinal Bergoglio is a good man you might as well think that freemasons, llluminati, bush family, royal family, rosthschield and others are good people. Then you are lost.

I was watching youtube, just surfing one day, had not even known anything about the pope .... I guess it was right after this new pope everyone is talking about was elected...

Anyway, I watched a video - there was a little boy only about 3 or 4 years old in the video he was watching television, I think the nanny cam was on and the father was in another room... anyway... the pope came on television and made some small speech I believe and the little boy stood up and said I love you to the man on the television, that pope, and declared to his father that he loved this pope and was his follower.

The father said they aren't even catholic, and was shocked about his little boy saying this without ever knowing or hearing of this man before.

I was very very disturbed by the video to be honest.... it has made me worried about what this pope really is, and everything in me says whatever it is that he is, is just plain not a good thing at all...

No matter how many people appear to like him. Something wrong with him.

I looked for the video again weeks later, decided I wanted someone else to see it... and never could find it again. But it stays with me, that feeling of unease about this pope.

It a weird feeling like somehow since the day I have been created I am that man's enemy, like we fight on opposite sides of a war or something.... Its a totally weird feeling honestly. I wish I didn't wonder if that makes me crazy or something.

There is a difference between thinking that we should try to cultivate an attitude of respect toward one another and our varying practices, and what I've seen this Pope doing.

I would not count it a bad thing to engage in talks of mutual respect with Muslim and Jewish leaders. However, I draw the line at engaging in acts of what I would call worship or veneration that do not come from one's own faith but belong more properly to one of the others.

I would not expect the Imam to engage in confession or take communion. Those are Christian things. I would expect him only to show proper respect and watch perhaps. Similarly, I would have expected Francis to treat the Koran with respect, but kissing it? In my mind, that was reverential. An act of worship. Why do that unless you are Muslim or believe? It's either false which is wrong, or he is false to what he professes as a Pope which is wrong.

Maybe he treated the Koran in such a manner because he believes (like I do) that there is only one god, no matter your faith or the name you use to represent the deity. If that is the case, then he was showing reverence for the word of god.

Just my thoughts...

And down that path lies One World Religion which is something nearly every religion extant has been told to watch for as a warning and not something to be welcomed.

There is only one God, but we should all be wary of one man-established religion on earth.

I too am pleased with the things this pope has been saying and doing. This particular man comes across as genuinely trying to make a difference in the church's attitude, and he may be genuine, BUT he is a Jesuit and if you know anything about them then you should be weary. The organization he heads (the Catholic Church/Roman Empire) has a long history of persecuting real Christians, why would I believe that this organization has suddenly changed? Has the power behind the organization changed?

2ndly, I want to thank SRS82 again for the photos and info he (or she?) is sharing here. I knew JPII was in to interfaith but didnt realize how much. BTW, I think "ecumenism" is between Christian denominations and "interfaith" is the correct term for Christian and other major religions getting together.

3rdly, I am pretty sure that it was JPII that was kissing the Koran not Francis.

4thly, OpinionatedB, that story about the little boy is freaky.

I don't think that any of you is understanding what I'm trying to say.

The christian churches are places of PROSTITUTION.

Their theology are wrong and they teach false doctrines.

There are no such things as confessing sins to men or eating bread from the bakery to make you part of the body of "christ".

But that's not something that you learn from a research of the beast, you have to read the "bible" by your own.

Just a little something to start with:
You are the temple
The true church

Peace of the messiah (not the peace of the media and false leaders!) be with you!

I am really glad to see some people follow up on their thoughts about this Pope. I was able to add a few things to my list. I know he intends to pray on the Koran in the near future but I didn't know he had already kissed it. I also didn't know a thing about Jesuits until now. The one world religion seems like a good call with this Pope. Even saying people 'just need to be good' to get to Heaven. Way off track for the Catholic Church.

What got me was the poster above who said a preschool aged child said he wanted to follow him after seeing him on tv, without any prompting from his parents. In an article I read it was praising him, stating how his popularity is rising fast as he becomes a role model for even the non-religious. That, along with a 3-year old pledging his allegiance to a man he does not know is really off.

I suppose time will tell. I know he survived when he shouldn't have as a young adult with a lung infection but in the bible I believe it says a wound to the head. If he survives anything like that it would seem we would know for sure, but again - if it were that evident so many people would not be deceived.

I believe when it comes to prophecy you are correct. If it was as easy as all that, no one even could be deceived who was literate. It's not going to be anything cut and dried - and most certainly nothing you can point your finger at and say anything definitive on.

Here is where I think that we have to listen to our internal compass, trust our feelings and intuitions about certain people or things etc. If our intuition is telling us something is off, or wrong... then we must as spiritually minded people follow that feeling, and keep our distance from the things we feel off about... and question ourselves if others are being off about something that might seem harmless, as many will be deceived, so we cannot even rule our own self out of the "able to be deceived" category.

For me it seems extra weird feeling off about a person who I normally would never even notice or feel anything at all about... I don't listen to or care much about what others believe, so when I had such a strong feeling of something being off about a figure I had never even heard of and normally would not even care about... I think that in and of itself is weird. So, I am chalking that up to the instinct category, and keeping a wary eye while staying well away...

I think that is best for me personally, and for many here too it seems.

I am not sure if you are a Christian believer or not. What Christianity is about is not a set of rituals or beliefs or rules. It is about relationship with God the creator and lover of us. If you have a relationship with God, then you dont have to rely on your own instincts or inner voice, you rely on His. He is speaking to us all the time, telling us which way to go. Isaiah 30:19-22People of Jerusalem, you don't need to cry anymore. The Lord is kind, and as soon as he hears your cries for help, he will come. The Lord has given you trouble and sorrow as your food and drink. But now you will again see the Lord, your teacher, and he will guide you. Whether you turn to the right or to the left, you will hear a voice saying, "This is the road! Now follow it." Then you will treat your idols of silver and gold like garbage; you will throw them away like filthy rags.

When we are born again, the Holy Spirit comes to live inside of us, it is like having God by your side all the time, talking to you, helping you over come challenges from enemies (or just chance) and understand what you cannot see. How do you know if the voice you hear is God's? It takes some experience, at first a new Christian may make some mistakes because there are still other voices talking to them - thier own sin nature (we call it "the flesh"), other people, expectations from our upbringing, and of course the devil's agents. Eventually you get to differentiate between what is your own fleshly desire, the voice of the devil and the voice of God. The more you live the life the easier it gets to live it. How do you get born again? It's easy, you just ask God. You were born from sinful, spiritually dead stock, Adam, tell God you have had enough of trying to do it with your Adamic body and ant that you want to be born again in The Spirit.

John 1:12 Some, however, did receive him and believed in him; so he gave them the right to become God's children.
Joh 1:13 They did not become God's children by natural means, that is, by being born as the children of a human father; God himself was their Father.

Joh 3:3 Jesus replied, "I tell you for certain that you must be born from above before you can see God's kingdom!"
Joh 3:4 Nicodemus asked, "How can a grown man ever be born a second time?"
Joh 3:5 Jesus answered: I tell you for certain that before you can get into God's kingdom, you must be born not only by water, but by the Spirit.
Joh 3:6 Humans give life to their children. Yet only God's Spirit can change you into a child of God.
Joh 3:7 Don't be surprised when I say that you must be born from above.
Joh 3:8 Only God's Spirit gives new life.

1 Corinthians 3:16
Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?

a reply to: Dianec Well the Pope must kiss the Koran. The Pope is one of the ten horns on the beast.

The beast is made up of the multitude of People; ref. revelation 13 and revelation 17;15.

The Pope increases his position by accepting the koran. The Pope will have more fallowers. And the beast will grow stronger because the beats consists of more People.

PS. The Pope is not the beast. The Pope is one of the ten horns on the beast.

Yes I am a Christian. I think that's why my intuition (or that nudge God gives perhaps) drew my attention to the Pope in this way. I agree with OpinionatedB in that regard. My attention is never on the Pope. No interest or desire to keep tabs on him but for some reason he kept popping up. And each time I read a headline or article it made me feel that something was off. You're right - it is very difficult to distinguish between my own voice and that of God. I don't know if I will ever get that down. I've tried though. That makes it difficult to know if my hunch is right or not. I've heard no one will know for certain until 3.5 years in. I can't remember why but that sticks with me. I suppose when the time comes He will make sure we know.

And
Spy66

I came across some other things on this and then stopped reading as I didn't want it to turn into a conspiracy thing. I take it in small bits at a time to stay grounded with the information and think it though.

The antichrist is supposed to deny Jesus was the messiah. By supporting a one world religion or all under one God it's sort or like denying Jesus. I have to say I'm into everyone getting along and am not bound to all having to think alike to be in that spiritual realm but as far as prophecy goes it's compelling.

I also read that Jesuits are into socialism. This explains his passion for a redistribution of wealth. In revelations 17 I believe it speaks of a scarlet lady, who is in a city with 7 hills. The 7 hills represent Rome of course. Scarlet evidently represents socialism and red, communism. There is also a scarlet lady who fornicates spiritually. To fornicate means to mesh with another so perhaps it is the blending of religions.

Again, idealistically it would be nice if all could have one focus that brings out the best in people. With regard to prophecy however, these are the signs to watch for. I hear others say every generation has seen these signs but I'm not so sure they thought we were in revelations. My great grandmother was very religious and never spoke of these things. Nor did my grandparents or parents. Too many things match up. And not only with biblical prophecy but that of Native American stories.

Look, I don't think this man is the AC, the one, but I think he couldbe the other figure, the false prophet. I'm not sure about that either; I just know while some of what he says is very seductive and sound right, there's quite a bit that troubles me too.

I have read some Catholic apologists who say that some of what we see as troubling is really media misrepresentation, but even they have trouble passing off the kiss of the Koran.

Now, let me be clear - If you are of the muslim faith, that is an entirely appropriate gesture to make, but I don't think it's appropriate from someone not of that faith. It would be appropriate to treat the book with respect, not reverence. There is a clear difference between showing respect for the religious practices and customs of another and partaking in them as if you were one of them, of that faith.

Revelation 17;16

16 And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.

All ten horns will hate the whore that sit upon the beast. If the Pope is one of the ten horns, Then the Pope is not the whore riding the beast. Because the verse would have said 9 horns will hate the other horn.

The whore that sits upon the beast has got to be the Dragon in revelation 13;11. The Dragon have many atributes that resemble a Pope.

The Dragon will do Wonders and decieve many.

11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.

12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.

13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,

14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

All these verses describes the nature of the Dragon. The Dragon is not the Pope. The Dragon is not the Beast of revelation 13;1. The Dragon is not one of the seven heads or 10 horns.

What beast would have the authority to do this?

13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,

The Pope dosent have authority to do this. Only the heads of State have the authirity to do this.

16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

The Pope dosent have authority to do this. Only the heads of state can make this happen by enforcing it by Law.

It is clearly mentioned that the whore is not any of the 10 horns or any of the 7 heads. The 10 horns will hate the whore. That is including the Pope.

The whore siting on the beast is a politition a Dragon, A head of State. We Kill state leaders. And accuse them of being evil tyrants quite foten these days.
