This 3 part video attempts to define the movie John Carpenters "They Live"

This is one of my favorite movies as it has so much to teach us about the world that is all around us. The movie is based on the main character Roddy Roddy Piper (x pro wrestler). The world he is living in very much resembles our own, high unemployment, hard times, and a heavy police state, with a clear class system. After a police raid he finds a box of sunglasses and when he puts them on, reality changes. He sees things as they really are billboards that apparently showed a beautiful woman advertising a product turns into a black and white billboard with "obey, or consume, or reproduce" printed. Dollar bills change into "This is your God", then the most horrific part is he sees some people as aliens.

I do like this interpretation by Celtic Rebel of this movie.

Here is the video series:

Best line from They Live: "Your face looks like it fell in the cheese dip in 1956."

Really? I like the "bubblegum" lines better.

OP I love this movie. Eve without the subtle narrative it's a good scifi. With the narrative it's great.
