Yeah... I do see the aspect of it being a major footprint on whatever area of the ocean it gets parked. Given that modern comforts and basics like electricity and food distribution (not to mention heat in our homes for natural gas) wouldn't exist without the energy industry, it's one of those necessary evils we have to get the best balance with....at least until people find ways to make alternatives profitable. Of course, balance is a literal concern in this case.

Just my opinion..

I see your point. Certainly we need energy. My future concern is how many more of these eyesores are we going to see 'parked' off of our shores? The oceans used to feel so expansive when I was growing up but are they getting smaller and smaller due to pollution and this sort of thing....

Eyesores?

You realize Western Australia has as much land area as Argentina, yet only 2.5 million people, 92% of which live on the south west coast. And this will be located off the north-western coast of Western Australia, 200 km out to sea.

Who cares what it looks like. It won't be near anyone. You're making up problems which clearly do not exist.

Yeah, I suppose the eyesores only exist when they are seen. In fact, quantum physics would probably agree with you but I think you know what I mean. There may be more of them and where will they appear?
