This is a very informative article about vaccines.

Focusing on children, the opinion is not to vaccinate too early.

Some facts are cited like a few common diseases that seemed to be subsiding before their vaccines were developed.

Very long two-part story.

I was not aware of just how many vaccines they have !!

Vaccine use has skyrocketed in the last 30 years. Speak with virtually any medical doctor and they're more than happy to provide a long list of reasons they think children should be vaccinated. Current American Academy of Pediatrics recommendations state that children should receive 24 vaccine doses by the age of 15 months and 49 doses by age 6.

Included in those recommendations, the medical establishment even recommends that parents begin vaccinating their children the day they're born for a disease, Hepatitis B, that is transmitted sexually or thru shared needle use. Who knows why? Because the misinformation surrounding vaccination is so extensive, many parents don’t even question whether or not they should vaccinate their child. However, parents should view these as very major decisions. The lifelong health and well-being of their child may depend on the critical decisions parents make in this area.

A logical look at disease and vaccine statistics may surprise many. Unfortunately, most people are not exposed to all the facts before they're convinced to inject vaccines. In every mature decision we make in life we need to consider two things: The potential upside gain, if all goes well, verses, the possible down-side risk.

To be as logical and clear as possible, let's study this important subject in four basic parts:

1- History of vaccines
2- Effectiveness: Have vaccines been proven to work?
3- Safety: What are the likely or potential unwanted side-effects?
4- With or without vaccines, natural ways to safely enhance immunity.
5- Conclusion

Part two

And you believe 73 shots of crap and chemicals for a 6 year old is OK? Have you no common sense?

The following is my opinion as a member participating in this discussion.

First off who is Rob Pell and what are his qualifications, because I only need to read this far:

Hepatitis B, that is transmitted sexually or thru shared needle use.

To know he's full of it....

As any person working in the medical profession can tell you there are LOTS of other ways you can transmit Hepatitis B, such as though saliva, and though rare people have even caught it from food. It will live outside the body on a surface for up to 7 days, and it remains contagious during that time. That's why hospital employees are all given Hepatitis vaccinations, and part of the reason why we have to use HBV wipes to disinfect equipment.

He is obviously unaware of even the basic difference between Hep C and Hep B, so why should we listen to anything he has to say?

As an ATS Staff Member, I will not moderate in threads such as this where I have participated as a member.

Have you ever fed a kid a pitted (stone) fruit? [apricot, cherry, peaches, etc) Because I could just as easily tell people you advocate giving cyanide to children. But then again we have reality vs. fear porn.

The first step in critical thinking is to discard common sense. It is only useful for a narrow range of relatively common situations. It is useless in matters that require rigorous thinking or extensive evidence.

Who is getting 73 shots at six years old, anyway? I don't count nearly that many in the CDC vaccination schedule for the children aged 0-6.

How many antigens and how many doses, given together?

How many chemical adjudavants are added? How many times does a certain batch of vaccine is "tainted"?

With the continued disintegration of our immune systems, hospitals are quickly becoming what they were before the antibiotic age - a place to die because you're going to pick up something deadly while you are there.

Add in all the undocumented illegals that show up in our country with drug resistant diseases - and the prognosis just gets worse.

The problem isn't the overuse of vaccinations, its the overuse and incorrect use of antibiotics.

Rob Pell owns and operates Sunshine Natural Foods

I love the disclaimer on his site
"THIS SITE DOES NOT PROVIDE MEDICAL OR HEALTH CARE ADVICE. CONSULT YOUR PHYSICIAN OR OTHER QUALIFIED HEALTH CARE PROVIDER FOR ADVICE REGARDING ANY MEDICAL CONDITION. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO SELF-DIAGNOSE OR TREAT ANY MEDICAL CONDITION BASED ON ANYTHING CONTAINED ON THIS SITE. "

In other words, do not believe any crap we post here, as we take no responsibility if you use it! If you want advice speak to someone who knows what they are talking about, not us.

I, personally, don't trust anything that Big Pharma is pushing - I'm glad I don't have to worry about vaccinating my children anymore.

So, carry on with your vaccination programs as you see fit - I'm glad I got chicken pox when I was 4 years old and probably won't have a problem with the shingles virus that is so rampant now with the "chicken pox" vaccine they've been giving people.

I've seen shingles - it's very nasty, and painful.

I just feel worried about what passes as "necessary" medication these days, when a lot of just plain common sense could be so much more beneficial to the masses.

PS - I am not a defender of this Pell guy - he's just selling other crap to the masses.

To my knowledge most of your “super bugs” such as MRSA are from over/incorrect use of antibiotics. Vaccines are an inactive version of the actual infection that allows your body to easily build up antibodies against the real thing without you getting sick in the process. The virus/bacteria doesn't mutate into a “superbug” from being exposed to your antibodies, but rather it adapts to certain antibiotics by becoming resistant to them. So you are sort of talking apples and oranges here.

As far as the shingels go, anyone has the potential to get them, no matter if you have already had chickpox or not.

I understand what you're saying - I'm a nurse, also - I just see things that really don't look right in the clinical sense - I work in the psychiatric arena.

I'm not posting this as medical advice - But, I used to get cold sores and used valtrex to make them go away sooner, or stop them from blistering up when I felt that first tingle -

A pharmacist was filling my prescription - and she told me to take 5 pills now, and 5 pills in 12 hours - instead of taking one pill BID x5 days - she said it was in some literature she had read -

I haven't had a cold sore since - and that was over 13 years ago.

They can cure things - but there's no money in cures - only in treatment.

I am not giving medical advice in any way -

I read a medical journal report from a study in Russia years ago that said the alzhiemers plaque that is only diagnosable on death during autopsy - is herpes simplex 1 - cold sores.

Valtrex and zovirax are very cheap - Big Pharma is not going to make any money off of these patent free meds now - thus, no easy cure for alzhiemer's disease.

This is only my speculation from things that I read and is not any kind of advice.

It's just something to make someone question who has society's best interest at heart.

Here's a nice study which has just been published. I very much doubt that the NVIC will show the link on their site (they really need to change their name to the National Anti-Vaccine Information Centre).

The link goes over the details of it as I don't think the full version of the study is available on-line yet.

I have seen numerous docs on vaccines, many with hype and one sidedness, but there is one that is fair and very enlightening regarding not just Gardasil, but the number of vaccines children receive today. The doctor suggests spreading the vaccines out as opposed to all at once.

The problem isn't the overuse of vaccinations,

I think that is the problem today, not vaccines in general but the number given.

1) How many vaccines do kids get today?
26 doses of 9 vaccines by the first birthday
48 doses of 14 vaccines by age 6
and a total of 70 doses of 16 vaccines by age 18

In 1983, CDC recommended:
11 doses of 4 vaccines by the first birthday
22 doses of 7 vaccines by age 6
and a total of 23 doses of 8 vaccines by age 18

source
(The bibliography does not contain any shady sources and the vaccine numbers are from cdc)

More than double in the last 2 decades. As indicated in documentary I posted, the doctor is not suggesting no vaccines, but to spread them out as opposed to all at once. How can that not make sense to anyone?
Just my thoughts...

We discussed with our doctor that we didn't think it was necessarily a good idea to expose our son's developing immune system to so many challenges all at once. He agreed. So we took a bit of a risk and we strung out the vaccine schedule a bit and didn't give nearly as many multi-doses. Those vaccines are the cheaper ones, but they vaccinate against multiple things at once.

We've been very happy with the results.

And when it comes to chicken pox or flu, we'll like decide not to vaccinate him unless he has some issue that makes it necessary (i.e. those diseases could be especially life-threatening for him).
