So Detriot Is Under Bankruptcy Protection. Bye Bye Pensions

Im sure most already heard about the judge that said the city of Detroit is under bankruptcy and associated laws. 1st thing to toss was all those pensions from current and former employees. This is the future of all government pensions. Local, state and federal. They are throwing their predecessors under the bus in an effort to keep spending frivolously in ignorance. How can the people working for Barry not see this hurricane coming???

The voters of Detroit just learned a lesson too late. If the Gov is big enough to giveth then it can taketh away. Maybe the union reps who were drawing 6 figure salaries from their union dues will help them out now?

first thing "the powers that be" will do is scare everyone that they are going too lose 80% of thier pensions....that way, when they only lose 50% of their pensions ,,,everyone will be saying thanx you,,thanx you ,...you saved us...you did such a great job..

But if there's no money coming in how are they supposed to pay?

Sometimes, working for a government is not any more secure than working for a private company.

Governments are always great at making promises, and sorry at following through. The Feds promised the Lakota they could keep their land "as long as grass grows, wind blows, and the sky is blue.

Governments are not God; despite their acting as-if. They cannot know the future; indeed they'd need to be ignorant of the very idea of consequence in order to tell their lies with a straight face.


The fact is, our civilization is collapsing--caving in from the center outward. The baby-boom generation was the crest of the wave, and they are taking everything with them on the way out. Their motto is that of King Louis XV of France: "Apre moi, le deluge" (after me, let it flood).


Practically every public institution is on the same path as the City of Detroit, from your college to your bank, to your employer to the local mall. It's what Rome looked like, as the light was dying.

Illinois just passed a pension pack that has the unions flipping. The city of Springfield Illinois is doing the same thing. Kicking the can down the road to the next generation. This has been the norm for 20+ yrs. That can only goes so far. You cannot keep spending money that doesn't exist despite the WH and others trying to prove otherwise.
