Leveller I took the time and read your post. I see what your talking about and it is sincere. I would become a mason to learn the knowledge of mankind. However not being able to share what I learned freely is not in my nature.

I do understand that Humankind is not ready for something that it doesn’t understand. Look at what happen when the “War of The Worlds” was broadcast. Hundreds of people across the U.S killed them selves because they were scared of the unknown. I think this is the same reason the government/masons keep secrets away from the public. If the government/mason did reveal the truth to all people 75% wouldn’t believe it and 20 % would overreact.

I also understand why the people in higher levels hide the truth from the lower levels. You don’t want to reveal knowledge that is very powerful to someone who will use it for “evil” intent. The problem with man is that most are followers. We think we have free will but we really don’t. We would rather have everything told and laid out for us than search for it our selves. Truth is a powerful thing and in the hands of the righteous it can do wonderful things but in the hands of the unrighteous it can be used to manipulate and control.

You talked about a time when you wouldn’t need to keep your secrets a secret. For some reason I have a feeling I know what your talking about. I won’t really say it because like I said before 75% wouldn’t believe it and 20 % would overreact. I’ll just keep it to my self until people are ready to hear it. Truth always sound outlandish is the beginning you can look at history for evidence of this.

P.S check out my quote

Greetings Masked, by your other post I read I'd assume you're a mason too...I don't know what it is between Hkot//FM//whoever and Leveller and others because they all seem to just fight. And it's getting annoying.

Either way.

Good words. Though I disagree slightly.

In my lodge we're still a bit more "old fashioned" than other grand lodges, who have lowered standards to gain members.

Instead we just upped our efforts.

As I was told well, actually I also read this in a great story wish I could find it. But it is more important to give a brother a reason to stay by actually socializing with them, rather than just all sitting on the side lines, eating and drinking and going home.

Masonry is a full time job you might say Not just all lodge work.

So if say prez falls into a lodge of mostly strangers...which I don't doubt is possible, it would be prez's job, as much as anothers, to make them the brothers that they are.

Even if it is just a little word here or there.

I think most people that drop out of Masonry drop out because they go a few times, get their degrees but never really get involved with other Masons, and so they might even pay dues, but just fade away from the scene.

And actually I was talking with a WW2 vet who is our Senior past master, and man...some of the stuff he said to me was quite ... emotional.

He's like 60 years older than me...and I've always thought myself the strong headed soldier type but he just...said things that hint to you what really happend. And that kinda makes you think.

I was just thinking of that, because you mentioned the dudes from WW2, and they don't have to be the "old doderds in the corner" that they might seem to be

They are the wisest and can really educate the newer guys if you just ask and get them going lol

Prez, Masonry is about a lot of things, it's about questions, learning, and in the end...being right.

I kinda view masonry as a bunch of people doing what they have to do for themselves, together.

We all must do something in us to feel that we've actually done something good for everyone else, and it is something no one can help us with...but it's not a path we have to take alone.

Boy it's late and so my brain is tinkered out...I should give this whole posting thing a rest

Look forward to further conversations in the future.
