Wouldn't an object that huge be visible to all amateur astronomers?? I just don't see how a large object, possibly the size of a planet can just "show up"....

I'm guessing it's some optical reflection of some sort... Would I love for it to be something else like a giant planet entering our solar system? of course, because its something that's never been seen before, but I'm guessing one of our resident experts will put this to rest shortly... Phage!!! Where are you??

Darn, how did everybody miss that one? A planet just snuck up on the sun and popped up for a few seconds of lens flare and what to do, what to do? That's what we need, a thread trying to scare everyone again. This site is like a constant Halloween. HOAZ (HOAX in some forms of street Canadian).

A lens flare... interesting, can you please show me more lens flare from this telescopes that governments are using?

After you said LENS FLARE i start playing several days before, big clips, if the optics of this telescope are problematic, it should have more of that effect...

It's a bit strange BUT possibly an anomaly from the camera...
Surely something that large would be visible to people on Earth....?

If it's a lens flare, why does it stay for over 3 hours?

Its just an artifact of some kind

You can still see stars through the "planet", unless your suggesting its somehow translucent
