Just found this gem of a peach online,
its ivory, early 18th century, Naples Italy. Artist unknown.
i doubt its all one piece, its very big.
its absolutely stunning, a true masterpiece.
ive seen some amazing ivory carving, and this is right up there with the best.
it resides in the Nelson-Atkins museum of art, Kansas city, Missouri

Fall Of The Rebel Angels

Maybe some of you could post some ivory carvings you like

Great find I am really impressed. As someone who works with sci-fi miniatures as a hobby I can really appreciate the work that went into this.

That is one insanely detailed, complex, multi-layered carving there.

Lot's of murdered elephants went towards this crazy piece. But still, all of those elephants...

Yeah its one amazing piece to be sure,
And its not as if all the angels were thrown out by a machine...
A lot of patience and brilliance gone into it

Check out Chinese puzzle balls. They make the carving above seem quite simple.

Sure as hell simpler than posting you tube videos any longer. Screw it, here's the link.

Thanks for fixing that. What exactly did you paste into the "youtube" popup when posting this? I tried several things (all parts of he link) and they all failed.

Why do you get jealous, are you an artist yourself?

No man, im a pool hustler/poker player, but i scribble and doodle and i wish i had an artistic talent.
Jealous is probably the wrong word.
Envious, no thats the same meaning.
When someone says "i wish i could do that"--------thats me
