It's looking more and more like we may live in a simulation

If we are all living in a simulation, why couldn't we all live in our own? There are a lot of clues in our lives leading to the assumption we are in a simulation and we are at the controls. In the United States, there is a saying "anyone can be president", in our families "you can be whatever you want" and just day to day "life is what you make of it".

Simulation or not, you have more control in your life than you know. Every decision you make, takes you down a different road.

Make the decisions, find your way.

Most people I know anyway, are aware, either due to scientific
analysis or due to a spiritual line of reasoning, that the game
is rigged, has always been rigged, can only be rigged.

Now apparent free will exists.. but how deep does it go? We
are 'given bodies'; we are 'given brains'; the laws of physics
and the 'spiritual laws' are all in place.

We dutifully make our choices between A, B, C, D, E, or F
and rarely get more choices than that. But we don't know
why we get the choices that we get.. our very thoughts and
desires 'float into view' from where we know not.. from
the 'unconscious' we say.

The rich seem to get more choices.. but they are still
limited to the menu of choices that 'floats down' into
their awareness just like the poor.

It's the way of things..

This makes the entire simulation argument functionally moot.

I disagree. I think that if the simulation argument stands the test of time, it could make it easier for parapsychology to be taken seriously by the mainstream science orthodoxy of the future.

As it stands now, a strong taboo prevents the dissemination of parapsychological findings. Taboos can be shifted by paradigm shifts.

The body of parapsychological evidence suggests to me that consciousness is primary - time and space are secondary. That's why a faraday cage can't stop ESP, and why our future emotions can reach us here in the present.

We were created to be creators. Programmed to be programmers. We need a science that will enable us to reach our psychic potential so that we can be co-creators of the greatest timeline.

...or go extinct.

I like your thinking.

Only we don't need a simulation argument to help us come
to grips with the racial unconscious. That will happen soon
enough.

I definitely agree that we BADLY need for that aspect of us
to be brought into the light of science.

Soon enough? What do you mean?

I think that the UFO PSP thing will crack it open soon
enough. I think that there are other factors in play
as well, which will be the beginning of the end of
the great lie which has had us in a Chinese finger
trap for a long time. I think that within 20 years
there will be multiple breakthroughs in this direction.

Now, will life be better or worse for people after this?
That's up in the air. The whole world believes in 'evil'
so strongly that 'good' is being erased. Those people
who think that they 'believe in good' are in fact the
ones doing some of the most 'evil'. Of course good
and evil are nonsense from a certain perspective
and I'm using them as labels for 'for the betterment
of the most people' and 'for the betterment of the
1%".

Listen up, there is nothing you should be suspicious about absolutely nothing at all.
Why are you so curious? there's nothing here, nothing at all you should be suspicious about.

What's next, the universe revolves around the Earth??

What Richard Terrile stated makes much sense and one I have seriously thought about...at a very low level of intellect of course, lol. I used to play a game on the PC calls "The Sims". It's a game where you control the actions of characters. I thought the same thing with the advancement of gaming technology how real could these players truly become? This is where my brain can not calculate but it's very interesting to see I share the same belief.

The universe is a simulation within a quantum computer I think. Our brains are the quantum computers and we are living in a dream. Nothing exists outside of our minds and our senses are what create the world around us, so nothing exists outside of the senses we experience. We are both the computer and the program that the computer is running.

I' have this game that, the people who made it said play with it but don't change it and put it out there.

Anyhow this game was wild because you could go outside of the game like into space, I let my grand son have the disc. Now that's gone, I still have it but it's buried on 3 back up disc. Selaris, or something like that, no that's not it, But it starts with a S.

One more thing, then I'm done, when I was younger a teen, I remember one time it was like the Universe stopped or almost stopped for a moment.

I still remember I was thinking, they stopped it to fix something or change something like I was on an amusement ride.

Or did anyone ever go on permanent, I did, still there.

...and what exactly is "real" physics? Is it quantum physics? Because that is about the most whacked out physics there is. It's about as plausible as a simulation.

If this is a simulation there must be on sick mf behind it to keep it going with so many sentient people suffering. Switch it off already.

From another angle, while it may be the most likely event that we exist in a simulation, it does not mean the simulation resembles the real universe in any way. Its probably much harder to simulate the real.

I had to come back, now that's funny. You guy's really crack me up.

I thought, therefore I were.

Yea, I don't like it when they turn the light's off.

It makes it hard to see stuff.

Yea, this is about as real as it get's, this is the gross physical. The rest of that stuff is made out of pixxy dust.

I do not believe anything these experts have to say about teh Matrix. All they are saying is that they have run very fast computer programs. That's it.

From the OP's

The physics is mind-bogglingly complex and operates on a vanishingly small scale. So even using the world’s most powerful supercomputers, physicists have only managed to simulate tiny corners of the cosmos just a few femtometers across. (A femtometer is 10^-15 metres.)

Now see that's just science bull # right there. We need to recognize bull # science for what it really is. The real science is right out side your door, open the door, go outside and test it. The matrix is real but these foolish scientists are just wasting their time running computer simulations day & night.
