So you simply refuse to accept the facts... even though it is what is written in your book that you call "Gods word"

Fair enough brother...

I don't see how you can believe in the OT yet at the same time not believe in what is written

but its your life

Dude... I didn't say you said that

Im saying what the other poster said is fantasy, just like noah and the ark story...

Just because its in the bible doesn't mean Christians have to believe it...

First off, it isn't even your book... Its the Hebrew bible, so unless you're part of that religion you don't NEED to believe its "the word of God"

Secondly IF you do believe these stories, then you must also admit to the fact that God is a ruthless tyrant... because it is written in those books... Proof positive said God is not the same as the Father of Jesus

Whether this so called god is real, I don't know... IF the OT God is a real entity it can not be the Father of Jesus...

The NT Says God is love... That God is Hate, jealousy... wrath, deceit...

There is a reason they call it the OLD Testament... and a reason there was a need for a NEW Testament

That is where the significance of names "meanings" as "signs" of the TRUTH of math starts.Through gematria each of the sons)patriarchs) has a number.Remember their names were not rendered according to gematria since they were born almost 2,000 years earlier.These names were so significant the priest of Israel wore a "vest" (called an ephod)with 12 stones on it each representing a son of Israel.They were in the order of the birth.From the priests POV from the top left to bottom right here are the names and order.
3-2-1
6-5-4
9-8-7
12-11-10

Judah,Simeon,Reuben
Gad,Naphtali,Dan
Zebulun,Issachar,Asher
Ephraim,Manasseh,Benjamin

There are 2 modifications to the original son list.Levi was the 3rd born.His tribe became the priest tribe(moses and Aaron were of) so his stone was not placed on the priest vest.Joseph was the 11th born and gave his birthright to his 2 sons Manasseh and Ephraim.So Levi and Joseph are replaced by Manasseh and Ephraim.

Heres is the math.The 4th(bottom) row of names is
Ephraim+Mannaseh+Benjamin=names 12-11-10
331+395+162=888

The 3rd row of names plus "1" on the 2nd row is:
Zebulun+Issachar+Asher+Dan=names 7-8-9-4
95+830+501+54=1480

The remaining names are:
3-2-1
6-5
Judah-+Simeon+Reuben
Gad+Naphtali
30+466+259+7+570=1332

Those are significant and clearly stated numbers.All 12 sum=3700
which is a multiple of the significant number 37(37x1,000)

All three of the group of names numbers are also multiple of 37
888=37x24
1480=37x40
1332=37x36

The even number names=1850
The odd numbered names=1850
1850+1850=3700

The odds of these coincidental names and numbers and order are astronomical,

I apologize for quoting myself I left out a VERY significant part!!!

In Greek gematria (called isopsephia) Jesus is Iesous and christ is christos
Iesous=888
christos=1480
888+1480=2368

That is the sum of the bottom 2 rows plus one.
2368=Iesous christos(Jesus christ)
The remainder 1332 is a multiple of the supposedly nefarious number 666
1332÷2=666

The name of the creator God given to Moses was
543=אֶהְיֶה אֲשֶׁר אֶהְיֶה,

Moses=345

543+345=888

that's just for starters!! here's a tidbit

Pythagorean right triangle triple

666²+888²=1110²

888²+1184²=1480²

Some people don't listen or read... so we must repeat ourselves... repeatedly... in the hopes that the veil of deceit is lifted

Kinda like preachers saying "this is Gods word, believe it all because the bible says its true"

God relates to the individual on the individuals level. This is the awesome thing about God...

Back before the flood, to the people around the Mediterranean that area was "the world" to them, the world was pretty small. That area did have a severe flood at some point in time, the when of it all I believe is rather up in the air, but the writings come from more than just Christianity also for that area.

It is my belief that the flood of Noah did happen, it just happened to their world at that time, not the entire earth. The warning was God relating to the individual, and the individual speaking of it from their own perspective. I have no doubt however, that God spoke to someone, who then told someone else and it got written down.

In this manner, it was from God... and it was true, simply spoken from the perspective of the individual.

See that I can completely understand...

IF it was a local flood, it likely could have happened... just not like the bible states...

SO I will repeat myself, as you seem to think I like to do...

What does this absolute belief in Noah and the story of the ark benefit you?

I truly want to know... and understand

Fair enough...

So it doesn't benefit you at all....

Why would you believe it then? Just because its in the book?

Just because its in the bible doesn't mean Christians have to believe it...

That's the bottom line.

Just because it's in the bible, doesn't mean it's the Word of God.
And Christians are under no obligation to believe in any of the Old Testament.
Obviously God gave us brains for a reason. We should use them.
It's very clear that the flood did not happen. It's indisputable.

And acknowledging that fact doesn't make someone a psuedo-christian. That's absurd.

I'm seeing selective circular logic at work here.

The OP thinks he has to believe every single word in the bible is infallible because some human said it was. But at the same time, the OP dismisses the Qur'an which does the same thing .. has humans saying it's the infallible word of God (allah) and every word must be believed.

I should write a book and go around saying it's the infallible word of God and every word of it has to be believed or people are going to go to hell. It would be just as true as the Old Testament stories and the Qu'ran. I'm sure there would be some sheep out there who would buy into it.

So there you go. Christianity is prefered even in Hollywood to be around for quite
some time to come. Even your enthusiasm is plastic.
edit on 27-11-2013 by randyvs because: (no reason given)

Randyvs,

Two main points:
1. Hollywood is out of ideas
2. Hollywood refuses to take risks on new stories

Lesser proof:
1. It's why there are SO MANY remakes
2. Biblical stories are REMAKES! ...they are stories that everyone knows, even most Atheists.

Hollywood is run by Jews that want to make money and they are only willing to fund sure bets. Biblical stories are sure bets. Just like ALL the remakes we see every year.

It's that simple, no need to look for a deeper meaning.
