Look at Tepco's webcam right now

appears to be smoke or steam coming from behind the area of reactor #4.


I have looked at the webcam numerous times and have never seen this before as it is fairly clear,,, its by the counter balance for the crane by #4

this is definitely something that I have never seen before.... could be they are burning something somewhere back behind #4

at first I thought maybe just pixilization, but the image is very clear for the most part




I have to go with steam... it looks to be mostly white in color and its not rising high in the air




Whatever it is, it is back behind the crane... its behind the counterbalance

Could you please post some stills? I dont want to install the software offered by the site.

must not be too bad whatever it is... the cranes are moving now.... its at the bottom left of #4

All i can see is a small moving Crane behind the Building!

What you see numerous Times is Construction Machinery
and the starting of their "Diesel Motor" which lead to
a bit of Pollution

Edit: Fuel/ Choke Combustion?

Stream works for me, didnt have to install anything using chromium, just had to accept the java warning.
But i dont see anything, just a crane swinging around

look at the bottom of the red and white crane to the far right,,,, between that and the reactor #4 building, it now looks like two puffs of white smoke

That's exactly what I'm seeing now.

Looks more like a video loop than a live feed. That area you circled seems to refresh every few seconds but it always looks exactly the same...smoke/steam starts in same place then grows & rises a bit, then it goes back to the same place and does it again.

Weird...or my eyes are going...

And as for the OP, is it not steam being released? I'm by far no expert but get the feeling these things are hot hence underwater operation.

Edit: I am not saying its the end of the world or drawing any conclusions other than it looks like steam to me..... I watch these cams fairly often and have never seen this before....

I posted this for other people to confirm or debunk what I believe I see,,, that's all

At this moment, they are working in reactor number 4, manually clearing out those rods.. The first ones went well.. Maybe not anymore?
