I personally believe this video to be fake.

This is an interesting theory and some interesting video of the space shuttle Columbia on her last mission and a supposed close and deadly encounter with a couple of UFOs.

The video has an interesting couple of pages of text at the beginning involving an unusual trajectory which took it over secret Russian installations.

Thanks. Can you import the video or describe it further? I hesitate to click on links as I've been burned by ads and add ons and jollywhoppers too often to just go click crazy carefree.

I personally believe this video to be fake.

So why post it ?
It is a fake video interspersed with audio taken from other missions .

Somebody move this to the Hoax Bin.
"UFO's blowing up space shuttles in orbit" and you couldn't figure out if it was fake or not?
Sounds like someone needs to stop watching the Sy-Fy network.

Thanks, I watched most of it with some skipping ahead. A hoax of course (who is filming the broken up shuttle in space, and as the video guy says, the NASA logo on the shuttle wasn't there) but was this mission launched to the northeast, as the video states, and not southeast as all the other shuttle missions were? That was new to me, so interesting.

The NASA logo WAS on Columbia for STS-107, a quick image search proves that point is bunk

STS 107 SC Columbia prior to launch

No worries. Just trying to get too the truth. It may well be a fake but until its been thoroughly debunked i'm open minded enough to entertain the idea, however far fetched it may seem.

I don't know if it's real or fake but a few things about the video impressed me. First off, it was loaded with good, real info. Second, the guy narrating it was both very knowledgeable and somewhat skeptical - in other words he approached this topic in the right way, in my opinion.

Either way - definitely worth a watch IMO.

Thanks for posting it.

At 9.29 in the OP video the astronaut calls out a Bogey at 10 o'clock hight , it is in fact audio from James Lovell's flight on Gemini 7 from December 1965 .
www.syti.net...

Lovell: BOGEY AT 10 O'CLOCK HIGH.
Capcom: This is Houston. Say again 7.
Lovell: SAID WE HAVE A BOGEY AT 10 O'CLOCK HIGH.

Hows that !

OK without wanting to be too anal about this, do you have the official radio transcript, rather than a horrible 90's website?

Don't get me wrong, I believe the audio is probably not from the Columbia incident, but no harm in being thorough.

Even if the audio is proven to be from another mission, you still haven't touched on the actual images of a destroyed shuttle, which IMHO look REAL and I'm struggling to see how they could be faked. Maybe I'm just naive to the quality of homemade CGI.

do you have the official radio transcript,

Even better here it is from the man himself from 3.05 on this video .

There are no actual images of a destroyed shuttle it's fake , the audio has been dubbed on to try and give it some authenticity .

No shuttle EVER launched to the southeast, this is a lie aimed at a specific target audience -- did it hit its target?

Satellite launch missions usually headed due east, and space station visits headed northeast up the US East Coast.
Solo shuttle science missions like this and Spacelab missions tended to have inclinations around 35 to 40 degrees, designed to overlay its end of mission ground tracks across the landing site. I was involved in some of the mission designing for this feature -- not this one, however.

ADD: This nasa graphic shows the physical safety limits, and does indicate a southerly eastern ascent path is allowed -- but for shuttles it was never used to the best of my recollection. The shuttle needed an emergency downrange landing site for launch aborts, and they ranged from Spain south to Senegal, but southeast launches would only have had open ocean ahead of them.

Thank you.

It seems I underestimated the ability of CGI hobbyists. ATS serves it purpose once again

A video I made to show how the Shuttle may look if it was destroyed in space. Filmed from the ISS or maybe another Shuttle. All made with real photo's of the Shuttle then I used Photoshop to make it look damaged and in pieces. Then I put it in space using After Effects.

I see Muckyman beat me to it.

Fake

As noted, the audio is fake, and the CGI is from here.
