I agree. There is so much that needs to be done here at home. Most of these countries don't want the US there anyway, so bring everybody home, and let's worry about our people for a change.

I think you posted the list of EVERY country, not the list of countries w/ US Troops stationed.

I can assure you that we do not have troops in North Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, China, Russia etc etc and above all, France.

at least not yet, in the case of France.

In quite a few of these countries then the troops are stationed on US bases and may be attending allied training facilities.

They're not all peacekeeping or policing missions.

The real objective of our military spread around the world is very simple, with our present all over it ensures a sense of power and control.

The United States Military objective seems to be the establishment of favourable terms of trade for US companies throughout the world, whilst maintaining sufficient armed conflict to ensure the continuing viability of the industrial/military complex that underpins the US economy.

The US Miltary will also, from time to time on request, engage in activities which may favourably influence domestic politics in favour of the encumbent president.

The US keeps about 10 marines in all of its embassys, and besides the US is a huge military hardware dealer and sends about 20 or 30 instructors to teach foriegn militaries how to operate recenently purchased weapons and hardware. Also the US military has lots of observation and exchanged progams to watch other militaries to see if they(the US) can learn any effeicent organizing methods that could better the oraganization in the US military, france is such a country. That is why so many countries have US military presence. Cuba is counted because of guntanomo bay base, russia is counted because of that start II thing requires that trained personal dismantel the nuke stuff, most of whom happen to be in the US military.

I don't think there are many in Australia in bases or anything. Maybe couple cross-training or some officers in liaison roles but nothing like South Korea or Afghanistan.

Man that list and map is total bs!!There isnī t a single yank soldier in Finland, and never will be...and i doubt that neither in Sweden.
And i donīt even understand why other countries let the us build bases on their land. Itīs pretty much same as you would give the whole middle east permission to build training camps around usa.

Thats list of US embassys? I dont see US military presence in Finland, theres no camp here Finland been neutral for long time so couldnt allow such unless you mean possible airfield use to move supply to Afganistan or something that sort, still dont see it happening atm. That map shows US has troops everywhere, its true if you look embassys, that doesnt really matter, so those pink marked countrys should mean same as US isnt there.

What is the United States military's overall objective?

To justify billions in funding every 7-10 years or so.

The united satens military's overall objective is to ensure the safety of the ruling elite's present wealth and power, and to insure the creation and control of markets for future developement and exploitation.
The USA is not a country it's a corporation and every thing it does is designed to make money. Including war, which is a long term investment risk. Not yealding a comeback for maybe yrs down the road (and not always from where you would expect).
But when you are already wealthy beyond sence then a risky investment is not really a risk at all (just a game for those that have everything). It's only a risk to us, the people, because ultimately we are the ones who pay. With our labor, our sons and daughters, our freedom, our blood, our sweat, with our lives!

"Let them eat cake" said Marie Antoinette.
As she wiped the calf's blood from her lips.

"Proud to be an American" said George Bush.
As he wiped the Iraqi blood from his hands.

Notice that most of the post to contrary seem to say things like this. No hard evidence, just i can garantee this or i think that, and i know this. But no links to prove this or pictures.

Most right wingers seem to talk like this. No matter the proof, they refuse to get out of thier bubble.
