It's not an ancient symbol in any language I know of (Babylonian, Sumerian, Hittite, Hebrew, Phoenecian, Egyptian) nor is it a petroglyph symbol
found in North America or Northernmost Europe. It's most definately Not Aztec, Mayan, or Olmec.
My guess is someone made it up.

Indeed, I have seen this symbol!
It refers to a tale told long ago, in a galaxy far, far away. It first appeared in 1977 as R2 D2 in Star Wars. And then came he sequals. But then I
digress.
Sorry man, haven't a clue as to its origin.
Cheers!

I think it looks like an observatory, the circle being the telescope. Just my 2 cents...

Loks like an archway with a tunnel in it symbolising a travel destination.

that has to have some significance, doesn't it??
? also, the hoop or circle appears to not be centered, as you might expect a
machine symbol to be symmetric ?..it is off-center, by the thickness of the line.

Yes they are very interesting the problem is finding a authentic study on them.
You should visit this website, that has a lot of info on Inca Ruins
www.crystalinks.com...
This site speaks about the City of the Gods, but it is NOT the one made refernce to in the Stargate website, this one is in Mexico
archaeology.la.asu.edu...

Seriously without any sort of context for this picture, it really is two sticks, a semicircle, and a dot. It could be an alien spacecraft, or it
could be directions on how to flush a toilet...
