The storm just passed a few minutes ago. Was in the basement couldn't witness the stuff outside, but it was beyond scary, the noise was extremely loud and it lasted for a good 2-3 minutes..... Thank you god for not hitting my house, HUGE sigh of relief... Now I'm heading out to make sure no one needs help in any neighboring areas

Damn, I hope my brother is ok. He usually goes out fishing on weekends and he never stays informed when it comes to weather/news.

...also I tried calling him earlier out of a whim and no pick up.

That's actually a very good point. Now the families who lost there homes now have to deal with the fact that it is mid-November. These late season storm outbreaks are actually pretty rare; Especially of this much significance.

- it really couldn't happen at a worse time.

Remember the STRAIGHTLINE winds can be even more dangerous than a tornado.

Flying debris and other dangers are still present even if you are not under the gun for warnings of tornadoes.

This is a fast moving storm, the winds are just as significant in this type event.

Its very dark here (Traverse city Mi.) and it is raining cats and dogs to the point where we may get some flooding in some areas.
What really concerns me is the weather pattern going into winter.
We have had more thunderstorms than I ever remember this year and it is continuing.
It seems like it will be a VERY snowy winter here.

This is nuts for this time of year.

And there are a lot of people hunting right now for deer season.

This is one of those types of storms that if people aren't aware of bad things can happen, it's moving fast too.

Used to live north of there. That is really ODD weather for that area!! REALLY ODD!! We used to get snow at the end of October when I was growing up, and we had 5 ft snow drifts overnight and think nothing of it, but tornado weather in middle of November?? Stay safe.

Getting pretty dark here in the middle of hellinois. Weather channel just said 80mph winds expected.

The good news????? It's 70 fricking degrees!

Off to do some yard work. I'll snap some pics if it gets ugly.

Southern Illinois here.

Are you ok up there?

It sounded like a direct hit in your area.

Authorities are inspecting damage about 2 miles from me.

I got the kids to our bug out tornado shelter.

A shout out to the person that les us come and hang out in the basement.

Thank you.

I hope eceryone is ok.
