I don't know what the answer is. I just want to make people aware it is happening. I also think that in very unethical ways the global governments are trying to make it happen faster.

Because of the great leaps in technology, it was bound to happen.

When cyber-sex becomes more satisfying then human interaction (which is happening right now with porn addiction where orgasms become nearly impossible with a human being - this IS happening in epidemic numbers right now) THEN having a relationship becomes a chore; raising children even more a chore.

When a childless lifestyle becomes the hip, cool lyfestyle (ie homosexual) then more people will eschew reproducing.

When the state takes away the right of parents and puts parents under a microscope then having children becomes a frightening proposition - this is happening now.

When children become a luxury then why have more than one, two or more has already become prohibitively expensive.

Unfortunately, right now the only way to afford more than 2 children is to tacitly agree to become and have your children become part of a permanent underclass (welfare) which TPTB convince that education is not cool, doing the few dirty jobs robots can't with a high mortality rate (encouraging within class violence - gangs) to ensure young strong workers. I think that the governments by handing out more money for the less intelligent or motivated females to breed are trying to breed borderline mentally handicapped people for those jobs until technology makes them obsolete also.

I'm just sad that the human race will be doomed to extinction within 12 generations or so which are the current projections if humans continue on the path they have now chosen.

But by then we'll have a new race of cybernetic intelligent beings and the powers that be that search for immorality will not be served by them as they envision and hope. Leaving the few remaining humans as pets or bred to be less intelligent slave type workers for the cybers or more likely extinct.

Sounds like a great plan, really.

When you have 7,000,000,000 of anything the amount of mediocrity/recessive genetics being expressed is staggering.

If you have 7 of something, or even 7,000 of something, every one of that 7, or 7,000, is important/special/invaluable.

7,000,000,000, not so much. Really. Me. Everyone I know. You. Everyone you know, we're the mediocrity. We're the bungled and the botched that Nietzsche talked about. The simple fact that we're here on ATS and not mastering FTL should be plain for us to see our mediocrity.

Let's stop stroking our ego.
