Here is a History of the United States Marine Corps

We are the oldest formed branch of military in the United States, formed even before we were a country.. November 10th 1775..

We are a Department of the Navy as far as paperwork goes, but as of the early 1960s we are a standalone service and the sole proprietors of the "Ready Reserve" able to respond within 24 hours to any military emergency...

We are called Marines

Army members are called Soldiers

"Once a Marine, Always a Marine"

Our motto.. Semper Fidelis... Always Faithful

"God, Country, Corps"
