Cover-up of Comet ISON information continues - why?

I find the two unknown objects rotating around ison very odd

There is no media coverup regarding ISON. MSN isn't the only media outlet out there. Here's a Google News search for "comet ison" for the past week, plenty of global and local media sources there.

As for the rest of your points about ISON, there is so much wrong that it's hard to pick where to begin. For starters, there is no credible evidence that ISON interacted with Mars, apart from some blurry overexposed shots on Youtube, which could have been caused by atmospheric distortions and/or bad telescope setup. Seriously, as far as amateur images of Mars go, that's the worst ones I've seen in my life. I'm sure there were many amateur astronomers photographing Mars at that time, so where are the pictures and reports of this happening? Mars growing a coma that then explodes would be major news in astronomical and scientific community. Just because the USA gov shut down (taking down NASA with it) doesn't mean that the world becomes blind to what's going on in space. By the way, JPL continued functioning (being only contractors to NASA) and got some pictures of ISON from the MRO. ISON was too faint to be seen by any rovers on Mars.

I could address the rest of your points one by one, but it would take too much time and would be in vain. Electric Universe believers wallow in false information and half-thruths, that's one of the biggest reasons why I'm staying away from this woo-woo theory.

What about no mention of Comet Brewington, Comet Enke and Comet Lovejoy, all at around the same time as Comet ISON?

How come there is no mention of the Four Comets in MSM. This should at least make the broad sheets newspapers if not the 'Daily Scandal' newspapers. Some many intellectuals who just might be interestsed, not to mention us 'common folk'? No?

Interestingly I saw an advertisement for the FEMA website last night while surfing the net. First time I have ever clicked on this and I have to say it filled me with foreboding the way it has a picture of the US with dates in each state like a countdown to some huge natural disaster. Anyone else find this creepy? Just an observation as an interested Brit...

ISON - The comment on the MSM is conspicuous in its absence. The silence is deafening.......but why?

We were talking about this with friends only yesterday. Why no mention of this AT ALL on the BBC or UK news channels?

At the least, a whopping great comet is going to be sitting in the sky for several weeks and no one deems this news worthy.

Yes, the silence is deafening. It isn't like there is no news at all. There has ben a smattering. CNN for example ran a story online at least about NASA flying a high altitude balloon to study ISON - that was on September 29. But it was very low key, 3/4 of the story covering detail about the balloon itself. Here is all they had to say about ISON

Comet ISON is nearing Mars on its way toward the sun and will fly about 730,000 miles above the sun's surface on November 8. If it survives, it could brighten and put on a big show as it passes Earth's orbit on its way back to the outer reaches of the solar system. Comet enthusiasts hope they will be able to see it without binoculars or telescopes.
Its closest approach to Earth would be December 26, and it could be visible from the Northern Hemisphere for weeks in early 2014.
Things to know about Comet ISON
The comet was discovered by Russian astronomers Vitali Nevski and Artyom Novichonok in September 2012. It is named after their night-sky survey program, the International Scientific Optical Network, a group of observatories in 10 countries organized to track objects in space.

By comparison here the most recent story I could find from RT at least paid it a backhanded complement labelling it "The comet of the century' in inverted commas in the story heading.

Suggesting it may be 'the comet of the century' because someone somewhere at least gave it that title. But hey, the reality remains it is indeed so far the comet not only of the century but of several millenia. That much has already been acknowledged and is attached to what is known already of the unique features of the comet rather than any display in the sky it may or may not give us eventually. This is something a number of posters above just may be overlooking.

Comet watchers around the world including the wider scientific community were promised that the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) and EPOXI/Deep Impact (DI) missions would have taken images by now. No images from those key sources have been forthcoming. It looks like we have to settle for NASA's shots from a balloon hahahaha. Too much.

Scientists have reported we will likely receive a ‘dusting’ from its tail. As to whether or not this dusting includes meteors that might hit the surface of the earth as meteorites – well the jury is still out.

It's a comet, we get several a year fly by, sometimes we get bright ones, so bright they can be seen by the naked eye.

Earlier this year (around March), we could step outside and see both comet C/2011 L4 PANSTARRS and also comet C/2012 F6 Lemmon together at the same time, in the same part of the sky, with the naked eye.

But unlike ISON, people didnt start going around calling them alien spacecraft.

That is a question we will know the answer to in a very short time. Come January or thereabouts we will know.

Keep trying! I said it was odd 2 weeks ago and nobody cared. It was normal, nothing to see, move on. Last time I looked, Nov 6th we had over 132 balls of light in Cal that day.

Next it was just Ison, now 4 others each having their day at the Sun, This Year! Is it just me or is it getting very busy out in space? Who has the right of way? Say Ison breaks up before the Sun. Next one comes, what like it won't hit anything?

If it wasen't for all this interesting stuff flying by in space, I'm sure gas would be at $4.00 a gal but low and behold I paid $3.10 today. Keep the people happy right?

Now that it can not be hidden, it would seem we are in a grab bag of picks. Tomorrow it will be another pick of some fool saying its Okay, move along now. Are you sure?

Well hey, if you're looking to the MSM to get your information about comet ISON, then you're in for a world of trouble.

It was the MSM that labeled it as the "comet of the century" and it was the media that stated that it would appear to be "brighter than a full moon".

Maybe your false assumption of a media blackout is due to the comet not being anywhere near as interesting as the media has made you believe.

Have you even googled it? I just did and got an article about it on NBC amongst dozens of other smaller news sources.

All this doom about selected comets (small, uninteresting ones are ignored by doom porners for some reason) is akin to the dark ages where we burned witches and lived amongst our own faeces. I think you need to come into the 21st century and stop being scared of comets and witches.

MSM is where most of the general public get the information. It is also the corporate media giving the GP what the Corporates and the elites want them to know, and above all it is intended to keep the GP calm, very calm - uh unless a story is run with the intention to whip up a bit of xenophobia to serve the national interest, public support for a war, that kind of thing.

What's that you say about a 'false assumption'' I make"? Was that the bit about a public expectation that MSM news services give them real information as apart from spin and propaganda? Or was it your wrong assumption (not mine) that 'comet of the century' was a creation of MSM.

NASA ran a story headlined 'Comet of the century?' with the question mark on January 13 2013 - - - before the quip was used in any MSM piece. Check this out.

And look what you get when you enter 'comet of the century'' into you your friend google.

Perhaps the big media outlets are waiting until ISON becomes a naked-eye object - then it will be big news because anyone will be able to walk out of their house and see it. Until then, ISON is just one of the multitude of comets out there, visible in telescopes or binoculars, and while it represents interest to astronomers and space enthusiasts, is irrelevant to the greater part of the population.

But of course if you're a space enthusiast, you wouldn't rely on MSN for space news, you'd frequent sites and blogs dedicated to space and astronomy. Personally, I have seen no shortage of news and pictures of ISON from those sources.
