The video provides a nice summary of the process they used known as DMLS ("Direct Metal Laser Sintering").

Thus far, they have run 50 rounds through the gun.

This is what I'm talkin about when we say American ingenuity. Just wish we were good at producing something other than weapons. While I am very pro gun ownership domestically, I have serious reservations about our main export: war.

Regardless, very cool.

Thought it was funny that while we are at the technological stage where we can "print" a metal gun, we still need to use a string tied around the trigger in order to test the firearm...
