When dreams die, do you hear the soul scream?
Do you lose another feather from your spirit’s wings?
Does your heart have to work harder?
Does your smile become shorter?

How long does it take to remake your story,
to rewrite the chapter and dismiss the wish?
What will you change to pursue the light at the end of the tunnel?
What will show you the way out?

Will you confess your dream was unrealistic?
Will you renew your efforts with more conviction?
Will you modify and quantify your desires?
Will you surrender and give up?

Only you have the power to pursue your goals.
Only you have the responsibility to make them legitimate.
Only you can pursue them with honesty.
Only you can provide the energy to keep dreams alive.

If you don’t dream dreams,
then you will never truly be alive.

I like it

I dream a dream everyday and one day if that dream is meant to be..then it is meant to be.

Thanks for this one, I did enjoy.

Until my dream comes true ...I will keep my head up and always hope for the best and be prepared for the worst.

Peace to you friend ~~>>

Thanks Nat! I have always been a dreamer. I confess I have not always been a willing partner in the pursuit of those dreams. I often dream "big". Big as in the fulfillment depends on others. Whenever I cross that line I realize it is no longer legitimate. I cannot make others responsible for my dream. I have big dreams for the world and for my family and like you I will let them be if they are meant to be. Peace to you my friend. You have such a sweet spirit!

The strategy is have multiple dreams that inspire you. The more "big" dreams you have the higher the probability that at least one may come true. Some dreams take longer to come true than others, some dreams may take longer than a human lifespan to come true, others have to be put on the back burner because of the economy, politics, etc.

Sometimes others find your dreams as inspiring as yourself and they, out of their own volition, will make your dream their own.

Dreams don't die. Instead YOU let dreams go.

Its up to you if you want to keep the dream alive.

That was the intent of my poem. We are the ones who are responsible.

That's great greyeagle. And it sure makes a lot of sense to me. It's good to see you still have dreams, For we are lost without them for sure. Hope your doing well my friend and that your dreams come true. I am also holding onto my dream

Thanks Doc! Dreams are like a sacred trust given to us from our inner self. It is often the reveal of the subconscious. Sometimes they are so personal we are afraid to share them with anyone else, even to admit them to ourselves. May you find peace and joy in the fulfillment of your dreams.

A beautiful sharing of inner re-assessment and the journey to learning one's true self! I've been asking myself many of the same questions friend, and you are right..... no one is responsible for our own happiness but us.

Sometimes we make the mistake of thinking that our happiness depends on others but all others can do is either add to or detract from what is already within us. Don't let your dreams die, rather set them aside for a short time and resurrect them later when you can view them with a new perspective and a new passion. It is never too late for a new beginning!
